Þat he him graunted his talent, & in þat fourme he haþ of-sent. An erchebischop þan sent he, Þe wisest [wissest origin|ally, the second s being under|dotted.] of alle þat cuntre: Line 5580 Þe message he schewed him þo, & to þe cite he dede him go. Þan he is to Gormoise come, & þer aliȝt, þe gentil gome, Þer fond he þerl Tirri, Line 5585 & his fader, & eke sir Gij. ¶ 'Lordinges,' he seyd, 'herkenþ now: [C line 5289] Þe douk me haþ y-sent to ȝou, & greteþ ȝou wele, wil y nouȝt hele. [Read hille: wille?] Þe douke wiþ ȝou acord he wele, [Read hille: wille?] Line 5590 & amenden þat he haþ misdo. He bit ȝou þat it be so. Tirri he wille his douhter [douthter origin|ally, the first t being under|dotted.] ȝiue, To haue hir while þat he liue. Into þe cite of Lorein he wil ȝe hir lede, Line 5595 & spouse hir þer wiþ gret ferrede, & þer he wille þe bridal held: Þer-at schul ben his barouns beld. Þat þe loue stedefast be Bitvene mi lord & þe Line 5600 Hennes forward he seyd me Schuld þe sposails couþe be: Þan schul ȝe acordi, & togider sauȝten wele an hi.'
