CAP. XXXIII.

[verse 1] This is the blessing, bi [with I.] which Moises, the man of God, blesside the sones of Is|rael [verse 2] bifor his deeth; and seide, The Lord cam fro Syna, and he roos to us fro Seir; he apperide fro the hil of Pharan, and thousandis [a thousend G.] of [Om. [verse 3] He louede puplis; alle seyntis ben in his hond, and thei that neiȝen to hise feet schulen take of his doc|tryn. [verse 4] Moisis comaundide lawe [the lawe I. to vs to kepe the lawe S.] `to vs [Om. S.] , eri|tage [the eritage IS.] [eritage, for eritage is a thing vnmou|able. [verse 5] And the king schal be at the moost riȝtful, whanne princes of the puple schulen [Om. IL.] be gaderid togidere with the lynagis of Israel. [verse 6] Ru|ben lyue, and [he S.] die not, and be he litil in noumbre. [verse 7] This is the blessyng of Juda; Lord, here thou the vois of Juda, and brynge in hym to his puple; hise hondis schulen fiȝte for hym, and the helpere of hym schal be aȝens hise aduersaries. [verse 8] Also he [Moyses IS.] seide to Leuy, Thi perfeccioun and thi techyng is of an hooly man, whom thou preuedist [hast preued IS.] in temptacioun, and demedist [hast demed IS. demedist it F sec. m.] [verse 9] at the Watris of Aȝenseiynge; which [the which I.] Leuy seide to his fadir and to his modir, Y knowe not ȝou, and to hise britheren [britheren, he seide IS.] , Y knowe not hem; and knewen [thei knewen IKS. thei, that is, her after comers, knewen S.] not her [his L.] sones. Leuy IS.] , and resseyue thou the werkis of his hondis; smyte thou the backis of hise enemyes, and thei that haten hym, rise [rise thei IS.] not. [verse 12] And he [Moyses IS.] seide to Benja|myn, The moost loued of the Lord schal dwelle tristili in hym, `that is, in the Lord [Om. IMS.] ; he schal dwelle al day as in a chaumbur, and he schal reste bitwixe the

GMW.] of watir liggynge bynethe; of the applis of fruytis [the fruytis GIS.] of the sunne and moone; [verse 15] of the coppe of elde munteyns, and of the [verse 16] applis of euerlastynge litle hillis; and of the [Om. IS.] fruytis of the lond, and of the ful|nesse therof. [verse 19] Thei [thei, that is, Zabulon and Ysachar S.] schulen clepe puplis to the hil, there thei schulen offre sacrifices of riȝtfulnesse [riȝtwisnesse IS.] ; whiche schulen souke the flowing of the see as mylk, and hid tresours of [as of B.] grauel [grauelis A sec. m.] . [verse 20] And he [Moises S.] seide to Gad, Gad is blessid [plesid G.] in broodnesse; he restide as a lioun, and he took [took fro his aduersarie IS.] the arm and the nol. [verse 21] And he siȝ his prinshed, that `the techere [he IS.] was kept [kept or ordeyned S.] in [a techer in IS.] his part [part or peple S.] ; which [the which I.] Gad [Om. I.] was with the [Om. IS.] princes of the puple, and dide [he dide IS.] the riȝtfulnesses [riȝtfulnesse CS.] of the Lord, and his [the Lordis S.] doom with Israel. [verse 22] Also he [Moises S.] seide to Dan, Dan, a [the IL. that is, a S.] whelp of a lioun, schal flowe largeli fro Basan. [verse 23] And he seide to Neptalym, Nep|talym schal vse abundaunce, and he schal be ful [fulfillid S.] with blessyngis of the Lord; and he schal welde the see [he schal welde the see, etc.; for the see of Gali|lee, as to the south part ther|of, felde in the lot of Nepta|lym. [verse 28] Israel schal dwelle trustili and aloone; the iȝe of Jacob in [is S.] the lond of whete, and of wyn; and he|uenes schulen be derk with dew. [verse 29] Blessed art thou, Israel; thou puple that art saued in the Lord, who is lijk thee [to thee IS.] ? The scheld of thin help and the swerd of thi glorie is thi God; thin enemyes schulen denye thee, and thou schalt trede her neckis.
