[verse 1] Ȝe heuenes, here what thingis Y schal speke; the erthe here the wordis of my mouth. [verse 2] My techyng wexe togidere as reyn; my speche flete [flowe IS.] out as dew [on erthe K marg.] , as lytil [softe IS.] reyn on [vpon IS.] eerbe, and as dropis [or buriownyngis K marg.] on [vpon IS.] gras. [verse 3] For Y schal inwardli clepe the name of the Lord; ȝyue ȝe glorie to oure God. [verse 4] The werkis of God ben perfit, and alle hise weies ben domes; God is feithful, and without ony wickidnesse; God [he IS.] is iust and riȝtful. [verse 5] Thei [Thei that mysbileeueden IS.] synneden aȝens hym, and not hise sones in filthis [the filthis IS.] , `that is [Om. IS.] , of [Om. DGKN pr. m. QRTX.] idolatrie; schrewid and waiward generacioun. [verse 6] Whether thou ȝeldist these thingis [that thou doist to ydolis S marg.] to the Lord, thou fonned puple and vnwijs? thee of nouȝt? [verse 7] Haue thou minde of elde daies, thenke thou alle generaciouns [knowe what mercy God hath do to thee S marg.] ; axe thi fadir, and he schal telle to thee [Om. I.] , axe [Om. I.] thi [the IS.] grettere men, and thei schulen seie to thee. [verse 8] Whanne the hiȝeste [hiȝeste God IS.] departide folkis, whanne he departide [seueryde I. sundride S.] the sones of Adam [in the proud making of the tour of Babiloyne S marg.] , he ordeynede the termes [termes or posses|siouns S.] of puplis [or sones K marg.] bi [after IS.] the noumbre of the sones of Israel [of the sones of Israel, the translacioun of lxx. hath, of the sones of God. [verse 12] The Lord aloone was his ledere, and noon alien god was with hym. [verse 21] Thei terriden [han terrid IS.] me [me to wrath IS.] in hym [worshipinge hym S.] that was not God, and thei `terriden to ire [han moued me to vengiaunce IS.] in her vanytees [veyn ydolis IS.] ; and Y [Om. [verse 24] Thei schulen be waastid with hungur, and briddis schulen deuoure hem with bitteriste [moost bittir IS.] bityng; Y schal sende in to hem the teeth of beestis [beestis, that is, tirauntis oppressing hem S.] , with the woodnesse of wormes [Om. [verse 25] Swerd with outforth and drede with ynne [ynne forth IS.] schal waaste hem; a ȝong man and a virgyn togidre, a [and G.] soukynge child with an elde man. [verse 26] And Y seide, Where ben thei [thei now IS.] ? Y schal make the mynde of hem to [Om. G.] ceesse of men [alle men I.] . [verse 35] Veniaunce is myn, and Y schal ȝelde to hem in tyme, that the foot of hem slide; the dai of perdicioun is nyȝ, and tymes [the tymes IS.] hasten to be present. [verse 36] The Lord schal deme his puple, and he schal do merci in hise seruauntis; the puple schal se that the hond of fiȝteres is sijk [sijk or feble IS.] , and also men closid failiden, and the [Om. [verse 45] And `he fillide [Moyses fulfillide IS.] alle these wordis, and spak to alle Israel, [verse 46] and seide to hem, Putte ȝe ȝoure hertis in to alle the wordis whiche Y witnesse to ȝou to day, that ȝe comaunde [comaunde thees IS.] to ȝoure sones, to [and AEFGLPQX.
