[verse 1] And whanne thou hast entrid in to the lond which [that IS.] thi Lord God schal ȝyue to thee to welde, and thou hast gete it, and [verse 2] hast dwellid therynne, thou schalt take the firste fruytis of alle thi fruytis, and thou schalt putte [putte him IS.] in a panyere [basket IS.] ; and thou schalt go to the place which [that IS.] thi Lord God chees [hath chosen IS.] , that his name be inwardly clepid there. [verse 3] And thou schalt go to the preest, that schal be in tho daies, and thou schalt seie to hym, Y knowleche to dai bi|for thi Lord God, that Y entride [haue entrid IS.] in to the lond, for [Om. S.] which he swoor to oure fa|dris, that he schulde ȝyue it to vs. [verse 4] And the preest schal take the panyere [basket IS.] of thin hond, and schal [he schal IS.] sette [sette it IS.] bifor the auter of thi Lord God. [verse 5] And thou schalt speke [sey IS.] in the siȝt of thi Lord God, Sirus pursuede my fadir, `which fadir [that IS.] ȝede [wente K.] doun in to Egipt, and was a pilgrym there in feweste [a ful litle I. thi leste S.] noumbre; and he [my fadir S.] encreesside in to a greet folk, and strong [a strong IS.] , and of multitude with|out noumbre. [verse 6] And Egipcians [men of Egipt IS.] turment|iden vs, and pursueden [pursueden vs IS.] , and [and thei S.] puttiden [puttiden vpon vs S.]

[verse 7] And we crieden to the Lord God of oure fadris, which [the whiche I.] herde [here D.] vs, and bihelde [he bihelde IS.] oure mekenesse, [verse 8] and trauel [oure trauel IS.] , and angwischis [oure angwischis I. oure anguische S.] ; and he ledde vs out of Egipt in myȝti [a myȝti IS.] hond, and [and in IS.] arm [an arm S.] holdun [streȝt IS.] forth [out IS.] , in grete drede, in [and in IS.] myraclis, [verse 9] and grete [in grete IS.] wondris, and ledde [he ledde I.] vs [Om. plures. hem M.] in to this place; and ȝaf [he hath ȝouen IS.] to vs a lond flowynge with mylk and hony. [verse 10] And therfor Y offre now to thee [thee, prest IS.] the fyrste fruytis of the fruitis of the lond which [that IS.] the Lord ȝaf to me. And thou schalt leeue tho [hem I. tho fruytis S.] in the siȝt of thi Lord God. And whanne thi [verse 11] Lord God [Om. B.] is worchipid, thou schalt ete in alle the goodis whiche thi Lord God ȝaf to thee and to [Om. S.] thin hows, thou, and the dekene, and the comelyng which [that IS.] is with thee [thee, shulen ete these S.] . [verse 12] Whanne thou hast fillid [fulfillid IS.] the [bi this maner the S.] tithe of alle thi fruytis, in the thridde ȝeer of tithis [thi tithis IS.] , thou schalt ȝyue to the dekene, and to the comelyng, and to the fadirles, ether modirles [the moderles S.] child, and to widewe [the widewe BCGIKLPSX sec. m.] , that thei ete with ynne thi ȝatis, and be fillid [fulfillid IS.] . [verse 13] And thou schalt speke in the siȝt of thi Lord God [God, and sey, IS.] , Y haue take awai [Om. A.] [Y haue take awey, that is, Y haue departid fro othere thingis that perteynen to myn hows. DEFIKLOPQRSTW.] the fadirles, ethir modirles child, and to the widewe, as thou comaundidist to me; Y passide not thi comaundementis [heestis IS.] , Y for|ȝat not thin heest [bidding IS.] . [verse 14] Y ete not of tho thingis in my morenyng [Y eet not of tho thingis in my morenyng; that is, in the tyme of my nede; Y wast|ide not siche thingis in myn vsis. Lire here. S.] in biryynge [biryyngis CDFMNOPQRTWX. the biryynge S.] of deed men [the gloss omitted in I.] . Y obeiede to the vois of my Lord God, and Y dide alle thingis as thou comaundidist to me. [verse 15] Bihold thou fro thi seyntuarie, fro the hiȝ dwellyng place of heuene, and blesse thou thi puple Israel, and the lond

which [that IS.] thou hast ȝoue to vs, as thou `hast swoore [stidefastly bihiȝt IS.] to oure fadris; the lond flowynge with mylk and hony. [verse 16] To dai [dai Israel IS.] thi Lord God comaundide to thee, that thou do these comaundementis [heestis IS.] and domes, that thou kepe and fille [fulfille IS.] of [hem of IKS.] al thin herte, and of al thi soule. [verse 17] Thou hast chose the Lord to day, that he be God to thee, and thou [that thou IS.] go in hise weies, and thou [that thou IS.] kepe hise cerymonyes, and [Om. I.] heestis [his heestis IS.] , and domes [his domes IS.] , and obeie to his comaundement [biddyng IS.] . [verse 18] Lo! the Lord chees [hath chosen IS.] thee to day, that thou be a special puple [a special pu|ple; that is, loued singu|lerly. Lire here. C.] to hym, as he spak [hath spoken IS.] to thee, and that thou kepe alle hise co|maundementis; [heestis IS.] [verse 19] and he schal make thee hiȝere [in grace S marg.] than alle folkis, whiche he made [hath made IS.] in to his preisyng, and name [his name IS.] , and glorie [his glorie IS.] ; that thou be an holi puple of [to IS.] thi Lord God, as he spak [hath spoken IS.] to thee.
