[verse 1] A geldyng whanne hise stoonys ben brokun, ethir [Om. [verse 15] Thou schalt not bitake [take G.] a seruaunt to his [verse 16] lord [thou schalt not bitake a ser|uaunt to his lord, that is, whanne the seruaunt is souȝt of his lord to be slayn, ether to be meymed, ether to be turmentid in other maner vnduly: he schal dwelle with thee, and so forth; til the ire of his lord ceese, and thanne he schal be ȝoldun to his lord, sithen he is the thing ether catel of his lord, as also other thingis schulen be re|storid. [verse 18] Thou schalt not offre [offre or accept S.] the hire of `an hoore hows [a strumpetis hous IS.] , nether the prijs of a dogge [turninge aȝen to vome, or berkinge aȝen treuthe S marg.] , in the hows of thi Lord God, what euer thing it is that thou hast avowid; for euer eithir [that is, siche offring, and siche auowe IS marg.] is abhomynacioun bifor thi Lord God. [verse 19] Thou schalt not leene to thi brothir to vsure money, neither [verse 20] fruytis, nethir ony othir thing, but to an alien [but to an alien, this is graunting of a thing not leue|ful, but of a thing lesse yuel to eschewe a more yuel, that is, lest they wolden greue her britheren Iewis with vsuris. Forsothe [For IS.] thou schalt leene to thi brothir without vsure that that he [him IS.] nedith, that thi Lord God blesse thee in al thi werk, in the lond to which thou schalt entre to welde. [verse 21] Whanne thou makist [iustly S marg.] a|uow to thi Lord God, thou schalt not tarie to ȝelde [ȝelde it IS.] , for thi Lord God schal `requyre,

ether axe [axe IS.] , that [that of thee IS.] ; and if thou tariest, it [that tariynge S.] schal be arretid [rekened IS.] to thee in to synne. [verse 22] If thou `nylt bihete [wilt not bihoote I.] , thou schalt be with out synne. [verse 23] Forsothe [Forthi kepe the heestis for that thou hast auowid, in com|parisoun of him that hootith, and fulfillith it not. S.] [For IS.] thou schalt kepe [kepe that I. kepe that word S.] , and `do that [fulfille it IS.] that ȝede out onys of thi lippis, as thou bihiȝtist to thi Lord God, and hast spoke with thin owne wille and thi mouth. [verse 24] If thou entrist in to the vynere [vyne ȝerd IS.] of thi neiȝbore, ete thou grapis, as myche as plesith thee; but bere thou [Om. C.] not [none IS.] out with thee. [verse 25] If thou entrist in to `the corn of thi freend [thi frendis corn IS.] , thou schalt breke [breke off the I.] `eeris of corn [eeris of the corn I. the corn eeris S.] , and frote [frote hem IS.] togidere with `the hond [thin hondis IS.] ; but thou schalt not repe [repe hem IS.] with a sikil.
