[verse 1] And the Lord spak to Moises and to [verse 2] Aaron, and seide, This is the religioun of sacrifice, which [that IS.] the Lord ordeynede. Co|maunde thou to the sones of Israel, that thei brynge to thee a reed cow of hool age [In Ebru it is, not of age, but reed hoollich, that is, with|oute diuersite of ony colour. Lire here. [verse 3] And ȝe schulen bitake hir to Eleazar, preest [the preest IS.] , which [that IS.] schal offre `the cow [hir I. that cow S.] , led out of the [Om. O sec. m.] tentis, in the siȝt of alle men. [verse 4] And he schal dippe his fyngur in the blood therof, and schal [he schal IS.] sprynge seuene sithis aȝens the ȝatis of the taber|nacle. [verse 5] And he schal brenne that cow, while alle men sien; and he schal ȝyue as wel the skyn and fleischis [the fleishe IS.] therof as the blood and dung [the dung IS.] to flawme [brennyng IS.] . [verse 6] Also the preest schal `sende a tre of cedre [putte wode of cedre I. putte cedre wood S.] , and ysope, and reed threed died twies, into the [Om. [verse 8] But also he that brente the cow [he for whom the cow was brent [offrid S] IS. marg.] , schal waische hise clothis, and bodi [his bodi IS.] , and he schal be vncleene `til to [vnto IS. to O sec. m.] euentid [the euentid IKS.] . [verse 9] Forsothe [sothely IS.] a cleene man schal gadere the aischis of the cow [brent cow S.] , and schal [he schal IS.] schede [heelde hem I. shede hem S.] out tho [Om. IS.] with out the tentis, in a place moost cleene, that tho [tho aishes IS.] be to [into B.] the [Om. B.] multitude of the sones of Israel in to keping, and in to watir of spryngyng; for the [that IS.] cow is brent for synne. [verse 12] daies, schal [he schal IST pr. m.] be spreynt of this watir in the thridde, and in the seuenthe dai; and so he schal be clensid. If he is not spreynt in the thridde dai, he schal not mow be clensid in the [Om. D.] seuenthe dai. [verse 13] Ech [ech man CE.] that touchith the [a IS.] deed bodi bi it silf of [on C.] man|nus soule [kynde IS.] , and is not spreynt with this [his S.] medlyng [of water and aschis S marg.] , defoulith the `tabernacle of the Lord [Lordis tabernacle IS.] , and he schal perische fro Israel; for he is not spreynt with the wateris [watir plures.] of clensyng, he schal be vncleene, and his filthe schal dwelle on [vpon IS.] hym. [verse 14] This is the lawe of a man that dieth in the taber|nacle; alle [alle men IS.] that entren in to his tente, and alle vessels [the vessels IS.] that ben there, schulen be defoulid bi seuene daies. [verse 15] A vessel that hath not an hilyng, nethir a byndyng [bidinge S.] aboue, schal be vncleene. [verse 16] If ony man touchith the deed bodi of man [a man BIS.] slayn in the [Om. ELP.] feeld, ether deed bi hym silf, ether a boon [boon of him IS.] , ether [of S.] the [Om. C. his IS.] sepulcre `of hym [Om. IS.] , he schal be vncleene bi seuene daies. Q.] spreynge therof [ther with IS.] the [al the K sec. m.] tente, and al the purtenaunce of howshold [the howshold IS.] , and men [the men also IS.] de|foulid bi [with S.] sich defoulyng. [verse 19] And in this maner a cleene man schal clense an vn|cleene [vncleene thing IS.] , in the thridde and in [Om. BCFKX.] the [Om. BF.] se|uenthe dai; and he schal [schal thanne S.] be clensid in the seuenthe dai. And [Om. S.] he schal waische hym silf, and hise clothis, and he schal be vncleene `til to [vnto IS. to O.] euentid [the euentid IKS.] . [verse 20] If ony man [Om. A.] is not clensid bi this custom, the soule of hym schal perische fro the [Om. S.] myddis of the chirche; for he defoulith the `seyntuarie of the Lord [Lordis seyntuarie IS.] , and is [he is IS.] not spreynt with the watir of clensyng. [verse 21] This comaundement [heest IS.]

schal be a lawful thing euerlastynge. Also he that schal sprenge the watris schal waische his clothis; ech man that touchith the watris of clensyng, schal be vncleene `til to [vnto IS.] euentid [the euentid IKS.] . [verse 22] What euer thing an vn|cleene man touchith, he schal make it [Om. plures.] vn|cleene; and a soule [lijf IS.] that touchith ony of these thingis `defoulid so [Om. I. thus defoulid S.] , schal be vn|cleene `til to [vnto IS. to O sec. m.] euentid [the euentid IKS.] .
