CGQX.] , and is witnesse [witnesse theroff IS.] , `for ether he siȝ [either herith it S.] , ether [or I. ethir he W.] `is witynge [knowith it IS.] , if he schewith [shewe S.] not [it not IS.] , he schal bere his synne. [verse 2] A persone that touchith ony vnclene thing, ether [or passim ELP. othir O. eny S.] which [that thing that IS.] is slayn of a beeste, ether is deed bi it silf, ether touchith ony other crepynge beeste, and forȝetith his vnclen|nesse, he is gilti, and trespassith. [verse 3] And if he touchith ony thing of the vnclennesse of man [a man D.] , bi al the vnclennesse bi which he is wont to be defoulid, and he forȝetith [forȝetith it IOS.] , and knowith [knowith this S.] afterward, he [Om. B.] schal be suget to trespas [that trespas IS.] . [verse 4] A soule [man IS.] that swerith, and bryngith forth with hise lippis, that it [he I.] schulde do ether yuel, ether [or EKLP.] wel, and doith not [it not S.] , and confermeth the same thing with an ooth, ethir with a word, and forȝetith [forȝetith what he swore or seide S.] , and aftirward vndirstondith his trespas, [verse 5] do it [he IS.] penaunce for synne [the synne I. his synne S.] , and offre it [he.] of the flockis a femal lomb, ethir a goet; [verse 6] and the preest schal preie for hym, and for his synne. [verse 7] But if he may not offre a [sich a IS.] beeste, offre he twei turtlis, ethir [ethir twey K sec. m.] `briddis of cul|uers [culuere briddis IS.] to the Lord, oon for synne [his synne S.] , and the tother in to brent sacrifice. [verse 8] And he schal ȝyue tho to the preest, which [the which I.] schal offre the firste for synne, and schal [he schal IS.] folde aȝen the heed therof to the wengis, so that it [the heed S.] cleue to the necke, and be not `brokyn outirli [fully broken awey S.] . [verse 9] And the preest schal sprynge the wal of the auter, of the blood therof; sotheli what euer `is residue [blood leeuith S.] , he [the preest IS.] schal make to [Om. S.] droppe doun at the `foundement of the auter [auteris foot I. auter foot S.] , for it is [is offrid S.] for synne.
