[verse 1] And the Lord spak to Moises and seide, [verse 2] Speke thou to the sones of Israel, and thou schalt seye to hem, A man that makith avow, and bihetith his soule to God, schal [he schal IS.] ȝyue the [Om. [verse 3] If it is a male [man S.] , fro [that auoweth fro IS.] the twentithe ȝeer `til to [vnto IS.] the sixtithe ȝeer, he schal ȝyue fifti siclis of siluer, at the [Om. SW.] mesure of seyn|tuarie [the seyntuarie IKS.] , [verse 4] if it is a womman, sche schal ȝyue [verse 5] thretti siclis; forsothe fro the fifthe ȝeer `til to [vnto IS.] the twentithe ȝeer, a male [man S.] schal ȝyue twenti cyclis, a womman schal ȝyue [verse 6] ten ciclis; fro o [a IS.] monethe `til to [vnto IS.] the fifthe ȝeer, fyue ciclis schulen be ȝouun for a [verse 7] male [man S.] , thre ciclis for a womman; a male [man IS.] of sixti ȝeer and ouer schal ȝyue fiftene ciclis, a womman schal ȝyue ten cyclis. [verse 8] If it is a pore man, and may not ȝelde the valu, he schal stonde bifor the preest, and as myche as the preest preisith, and seeth that the pore man may ȝelde, so myche he schal ȝyue. [verse 9] Forsothe [Sothly IS.] if ony man avowith a beeste, that may be offrid to the Lord, [verse 10] it schal be hooli, and schal [it schal IS.] not mow be chaungid, that is, nethir a betere for `an yuel [a wors I.] , nether `a worse [an yuel IS.] for a good; and if

he [a man IS.] chaungith it [his VOW IS.] , bothe that, that is chaung|id, and that [that thing IS.] , for which it is chaungid, schal be halewid to the Lord. [verse 11] Sotheli if ony man avowith an vncleene beeste, that may not be offrid to the Lord, it schal be [verse 12] brouȝt bifor the preest, and the preest schal deme whether it is good ether yuel, [verse 13] and schal [he schal IS.] sette the prijs; which prijs if he that offrith [auowith S.] wole [wole not A. sec. m.] ȝyue, he schal adde [adde to IS.] the fifthe part ouer the valu. [verse 14] If a man avowith his hows, and halewith it to the Lord, the preest schal biholde, `whether it is [wher that hous be IS.] good ether yuel, and bi the prijs, which [that IS.] [verse 15] is ordeyned of hym [the preest IS.] , it schal be seld; so|theli if he that avowide wole aȝen-bie it, he schal ȝyue the fifthe part of the valu aboue, and he schal haue the hows. [verse 16] That if he [a man IS.] avowith the feeld of his possessioun, and halewith [halewith it S.] to the Lord, the prijs schal be demed bi the mesure of seed; if the feeld is sowun with thritti buyschels of barli, it schal be seeld for fifti siclys of siluer. [verse 17] If he auowith the feeld anoon for [fro ILS.] the ȝeer of [of bigynnyng of IS.] the [Om. B.] iubilee bigynnynge [Om. IS.] , as myche as it may be worth, bi so myche it [verse 18] schal be preisid [preisid ether set a [at GN] valu BCGKNQ.] ; but if it be after `sum part of [a litil IS.] tyme, the preest schal rykene [rykene ether determyne BCGKNQ. noumbre IS.] the money bi [aftir IS.] the noumbre of ȝeeris [the ȝeeris W.] that ben residue [left ILS.] `til to [vnto IS. to O sec. m.] the iubilee, and it schal be withdrawun of [fro IS.] the prijs. [verse 19] That if he that avowide wole aȝenbie the feeld, he schal adde the fyuethe part of the [Om. W.] money preisid [that is preisid I.] , [verse 20] and he schal welde it; but if he nyle [wil not I.] aȝenbie [aȝenbie it IS.] , but it is seeld to ony othir man, he [he thanne S.] that avowide [auowide it IS.] schal `no more [neuer IS.] mowe [verse 21] aȝenbie it; for whanne the dai of iubilee cometh, it [that feeld S.] schal be halewid to the Lord, and the possessioun halewid perteyneth to the riȝt of preestis. [verse 22] If the feeld is bouȝt, and is not of the possessioun of grettere [verse 23] men [men, that is, of auncetries BCGKNQX. men of auncetry S.] , and is [it is IS.] halewid to the Lord, the

preest schal determyne [noumbre IS.] the prijs bi [aftir IS.] the noumbre of ȝeeris `til to [vnto IS.] the iubilee, and he that avowide the feeld schal ȝyue the [verse 24] prijs [prijs therof S.] to the Lord; forsothe in the iubilee it schal turne aȝen to the formere lord that seelde it, and `haue he [he schal haue it I. haue it S.] in to the eritage of his possessioun. [verse 25] `Ech preisyng [ech preisyng, that is, setting of valu BCKNQ. al the preisyng or valu I. ech preisyng or thing noumbrid S.] schal be peisid [preisid S.] bi the sicle of seyntuarie [the seyntuarie IS.] ; a sicle hath twenti halpens. [verse 26] No man may ha|lewe and avowe the firste gendrid thingis that perteynen to the Lord, whether it is oxe, whether [or I.] scheep, tho [thei IS.] ben the Lordis part [part withouten avow S.] . [verse 27] That if the beeste is vncleene [vncleene that is avowid S.] , he that offride [offrith it I. offride it S.] schal aȝenbie by [Om. A. it aftir IS.] his [the IS.] valu [valu that it is preisid to S.] , and he schal adde [adde to IS.] the fyuethe part of prijs [the prijs IS.] ; if he nyle [wil not I.] aȝenbie [aȝenbie it IS.] , it schal be seeld to another man, as [for as IS.] myche euer [Om. IS.] as it is `set at valu [preisid IS.] . [verse 28] Al thing which [that IS.] is ha|lewid to the Lord, whether it is man, whe|ther [or IS.] beeste, whether [or IS.] feeld [In Ebreu it is, feeld of his eritage. CKQ.] , it schal not be seeld, nether it schal mow be aȝenbouȝt; whateuer thing is halewid onys, it [he S.] schal be hooli of the noumbre of hooli thingis [verse 29] to the Lord, and ech halewyng which [that IS.] is offrid of man [a man B.] , schal not be aȝenbouȝt, but it schal die bi deeth [deeth and be offrid S.] . [verse 30] Alle the tithis of erthe, whether of fruytis [fruytis of corn S.] , whether of ap|plis of trees, ben the Lordis part, and ben [verse 31] halewid to hym; sotheli if ony man wole aȝenbie hise tithis, he schal adde [adde to IS.] the [verse 32] fyuethe part of tho; of alle tithis [the tithis I.] , of scheep, and of [Om. ELP.] oxen, and of geet, that passen vndur the `ȝerde of scheepherde [scheperdis ȝerde IS.] , whateuer thing cometh to the tenthe part, [verse 33] it schal be halewid to the Lord; it schal not be chosun, nether good, nether yuel; nethir it schal be chaungid for another; if ony man chaungith [chaungith it IS.] , bothe that, that is chaungid, and that [that thing S.] , for which it is chaungid, schal be halewid to the Lord, and it schal

not be aȝenbouȝt. [verse 34] These ben the co|maundementis [heestis IS.] whiche the Lord comaund|ide to Moises, and to the sones of Israel, in the hil of Synay.
