[verse 1] And the Lord spak to Moises, and seide, [verse 2] Comaunde thou to the sones of Israel, that thei brynge to thee oile of olyues, pureste [moost pure IS.]

oile, and briȝt, to the [Om. IKS.] lanternes to be or|deyned [verse 3] contynueli with out the veil of wit|nessyng, in the tabernacle of boond of pees; and Aaron schal araye tho lanternes fro euentid `til to [vnto the I. vnto S.] euentid bifor the Lord, bi religioun and custom euerlastynge in ȝoure [verse 4] generaciouns; tho [thei I. tho lanternes S.] schulen be set euere on [vpon IS.] a clenneste [ful clene I.] candilstike in the siȝt of the Lord. [verse 5] Also thou schalt take wheete [tried IS.] flour, and thou schalt bake therof twelue looues, which [the which I.] schulen haue ech bi hem silf twei [verse 6] tenthe partis, of whiche [the whiche I.] thou schalt sette sexe on euer eithir side, on a clenneste [ful clene I.] [verse 7] boord bifor the Lord; and thou schalt sette clereste [moost cleer I.] encense on [vpon S.] tho [thilke I. the O.] looues, that the looues be in to mynde of offryng of the [verse 8] Lord; bi ech sabat tho schulen be chaungid bifor the Lord, and schulen [thei schulen IS.] be takun of the sones of Israel bi euerlastynge boond [verse 9] of pees; and tho [thei I. tho looues S.] schulen be Aarons [Aaron S.] and hise sones, that thei ete tho in the hooli place, for it is hooli of the noumbre of hooli thingis, of the sacrifices of the Lord, bi euerlastynge lawe. [verse 10] Lo! forsothe the sone of a womman of Israel, whom [whan L.] sche childide of a man [Om. S.] Egipcian, ȝede out among the sones of Israel, and chidde [childide A pr. m. he chidde I. she childide S.] in [verse 11] the castels [tentis IS.] with a man of Israel, and [Om. C.] whanne he hadde blasfemyd the name of the Lord, and hadde cursid the Lord, he was brouȝt to Moises; forsothe [sothely IS.] his modir was clepid Salumyth, the douȝtir of Dabry, of [verse 12] the lynage of Dan; and thei senten [puttiden W.] hym to [into CDEGIKLMNOPQRSTWX.] prisoun, til thei wisten what the Lord comaundide. [verse 13] And the Lord spak to Moises [verse 14] and seide, Lede out the blasfemere with|out the castels [tentis IS.] , and alle men that herden [herden him IS.] , sette [shulen sette K. sette thei IS.] her hondis on [vpon IS.] his heed, and al the puple stone hym. [verse 15] And thou schalt speke to the sones of Israel, A man that cursith [verse 16] his God, schal bere his synne, and he that blasfemeth the name of the Lord, die [die he IKS.] bi deeth; al the multitude of the puple

schal oppresse hym with stoonus, whether he that blasfemede the name of the Lord is a citeseyn, whether [or I.] a pilgrym, die he [Om. L.] bi deeth. [verse 17] He that smytith and sleeth a [verse 18] man, die [die he IKS.] bi deeth; he that smytith a beeste, ȝelde [ȝelde he IKS.] oon in his stide, that is, lijf for lijf [liyf for liyf, that is, a beeste of the same kynde and valu, ether the priys bi the doom of ingis. BCGQX.] to ony of hise citeseyns, as he dide, so be it don [verse 20] to him; he schal restore brekyng for brek|yng, iȝe for iȝe, tooth for tooth; what man|er wem [of wem F.] he ȝaf, he schal be compellid to suffre sich a wem [oon IS.] . [verse 21] He that smytith [sleeth IS.] a werk beeste, ȝeelde [ȝeelde he IKS.] another; he that smyt|ith a man, schal be punyschid [be punyschid, in Ebreu it is, die. CGQX.] . [verse 22] Euene doom be among ȝou, whether a [Om. IS.] pilgrym ethir a [Om. IS.] citeseyn synneth, for Y am ȝoure Lord God. [verse 23] And Moyses spak to the sones of Israel, and thei brouȝten forth out of the castels [tentis IS.] hym that blasfemede, and op|pressiden [thei killide I. killiden S.] with [hym with A pr. m.] stoonus. And the sones of Israel diden, as the Lord comaundide [bad IS.] to Moyses.
