[verse 1] And the Lord spak to Moises, aftir the deeth of the twei sones of Aaron, whanne thei offriden alien fier, and weren slayn, [verse 2] and comaundide [the Lord comaundide IS.] to hym [Moyses IS.] , and seide, Speke thou to Aaron, thi brother, that he entre not in [Om. IS.] al tyme in to the seyntuarie, which [that IS.] is with ynne the veil bifor the propicia|torie [propiciatorie or Goddis answerynge place S.] , bi [with IS.] which the arke is hilid, that he die not; for Y schal appere in a cloude [verse 3] on [vpon IS.] Goddis [the heuenly S.] answeryng place; `no but [but if K.] he do these thingis bifore [that ben seid bifore IS.] . be gird with a lynnun girdil, he schal putte a lynnun mytre on his heed; for these clothis ben hooli, with whiche [hem IS.] alle he schal be clothid, whanne he is waischun. [verse 5] And he schal take of al the multitude of the sones of Israel twei kidis for synne, [verse 6] and o [a IS.] ram in to brent sacrifice; and whanne he offrith [he offrith, that is, disposith to offre BCGNQ.] a calf, and preieth [ether purueieth G.] [and preieth, in Ebreu it is, and clensith, that is, ordeyn|eth to clense. that he sprynge [sprynge it IS.] euene aȝens Goddis an|sweryng place, and he schal clense the [verse 16] seyntuarie fro vnclennessis [vnclennes S.] of the sones of Israel, and fro her trespassyngis, and alle [alle her IS.] synnes. Bi this custom he [Aaron IS.] schal do in the tabernacle of witnessyng, which [that IS.] is set among hem, in the [Om. IS.] myddis of partis [the partis IS.] [of partis, in Ebreu it is, of filthis. CGQ.] of the [her IS.] abitacioun `of hem [Om. IS.] . [verse 17] No man be in the tabernacle, whanne the bischop schal entre in to the seyntuarie, that he preye for hym silf, and for his hows, and for al the cumpeny of Israel, til [til that IS.] he go out of the tabernacle. [verse 18] Sotheli whanne he hath go out to the auter which [that IS.] is bifor the Lord, preye he [he thanne IS.] for hym silf, and schede [heelde I.] he on the hornes [corners I. h. or corners S.] therof, bi cumpas, the blood `that is [Om. preye as wel for hym silf, as for the puple; [verse 25] and he [Aaron IS.] schal brenne on [vpon IS.] the auter the in|nere fatnesse which [that IS.] is offrid for synne. [verse 26] Sotheli he that leet go the `buk of geet [goot bucke IS.] able to be sent out, schal waische hise clothis and bodi [his bodi IS.] with water, and so he schal entre in to the castels [tentis IS.] . [verse 27] Forsothe thei schulen bere out of the castels [tentis IS.] the calf and `buk of geet [the goot bucke IS.] , that weren offrid for synne, and whos blood was brouȝt in to the seyntuarie, that the clensyng were fillid [fulfillid IS.] ; and thei schulen brenne bi [in I.] fier as well the skynnys, as the fleischis [fleishe I.] and dung of tho [tho beestis IS.] . [verse 28] And who euer brenneth [schal brenne IS.] tho, schal [he schal I.] waische hise clothis and fleisch in watir, and so he schal entre in to the castels [tentis IS.] . [verse 29] And this schal be to ȝou a lawful thing euerlastynge; in the seuenthe monethe, in the tenthe dai of the monethe, ȝe schu|len turment ȝoure soulis, and ȝe schulen not do ony werk, nethir a [Om. B.] man borun in the lond, nether a comelyng which [that IS.] is a pilgrym among ȝou. [verse 30] The delyueryng fro synne, and the clensyng of ȝou schal be in this dai, ȝe schulen be clensid bifore the [verse 31] Lord fro alle ȝoure synnes; for it is sabat [the sabat IO sup. ras. S.] of restyng, and ȝe schulen turment ȝoure soulis bi euerlastynge religioun [religioun in this saboth IS.] . [verse 32] Sotheli the preest schal clense [out clense S.] , which [the which I. first himself that S.] is anoyntid, and whos hondis ben halewid, that he be set in preesthod for his fadir; and he [that prest S.] schal be clothid in a lynnun stoole, and in [verse 33] hooli clothis, and he schal clense the seyn|tuarie, and the tabernacle of witnessyng, and the auter, and the preestis, and al the puple. [verse 34] And this schal be to ȝou a lawful thing euerlastynge, that ȝe preye for the sones of Israel, and for alle the [her IS.] synnes `of hem [Om. IS.] , onys in the ȝeer. Therfor he [Aaron IS.] dide, as the Lord comaundide to Moises.
