These ben the beestis, whiche ȝe schulen ete, of alle [verse 3] lyuynge [the lyuynge FS.] beestis of erthe; ȝe schulen ete `al thing [alle thingis S.] among beestis that hath [han I.] a [the IS.] clee [verse 4] departid, and chewith code [the code IS. quede L.] ; sotheli what euer thing [beest IS.] chewith code, and hath a clee, but departith [it departith IS.] not it, as a camel and othere beestis doon [Om. I.] , ȝe schulen not ete it, and ȝe schulen arette [acounte it IS. arette it K.] among vnclene thingis. [verse 5] A cirogrille [cirogrille, ether a conyng N. C. or a cony S.] [A cirogrille, that is, a beeste ful of thornes, and more than an irchoun. BC KQX. In Ebru it is a cony. [verse 8] Ȝe schulen not ete the fleischis [fleishe I.] of these [these beestis IS.] , nether ȝe schulen touche the [her IS.] deed bodies, for tho ben vnclene to ȝou. [verse 9] Also these thingis ben [it ben I.] that ben gendrid in watris, and is leueful to ete; [verse 10] ȝe schulen ete al thing [thingis IS.] that hath [han S.] fynnes and scalis, as wel in the see, as in floodis [freshe floodis S.] and stondynge watris; sotheli what euer thing [thingis S.] of tho [hem I.] that ben moued and lyuen [lyueth W.] in watris, hath not fynnes and scalis, schal [verse 11] be abhominable, and wlatsum [as acursid IS.] to ȝou; ȝe [and ȝe IS.] schulen not ete the fleischis [fleishe I.] of tho, and ȝe schulen eschewe the [her IS.] bodies deed bi hem silf. IS.] vnclene `til to [vnto IS.] euentid [the euentid KS.] ; and if it is nede, that he bere ony deed thing of these, he schal waische his clothis, and he schal be vnclene til to the goyng doun of the sunne. [verse 26] Sotheli ech beeste that hath a clee, but departith [he departith I.] not it, nether chew|ith code, schal be vnclene; and what euer thing touchith it, schal be defoulid. [verse 27] That that goith on [vpon IS.] hondis, of alle beestis that gon on [vpon IS.] foure feet, schal be vnclene; he, that touchith her bodies deed bi hem silf, [verse 28] schal be defoulid `til to [vnto the IS. til to the K.] euentid; and he, that berith siche deed bodies, schal waische hise clothis, and he schal be vnclene `til to [vnto the IS. til to the K.] euentid; for alle these thingis ben vn|clene to ȝou. be defoulid, on [vpon IS.] which ony thing of her bodies deed bi hem silf fallith, as wel a vessel of tree, and a cloth, as [of F.] skynnes `and heiris [or pilchis either heeren schertis IS. and of heiris W.] ; and in what euer thing werk is maad, it schal be dippid in watir, and tho [Om. He that touch|ith her bodi deed bi it [hem K.] silf, schal be de|foulid. [verse 37] If it fallith on [vpon IS.] seed, it schal not [verse 38] defoule the seed; sotheli if ony man schedith [scheddith out IS.] seed with watir, and aftirward the watir is touchid with deed bodies bi [of S.] hem silf, it schal be defoulid anoon. [verse 39] If a beeste is deed, which [bi it selff the which I. bi it self which S.] it is leueful to ȝou to [for to I.] ete, he that touchith the deed bodi therof schal be vnclene `til to [vnto the I. til to the S.] euentid; [verse 40] and he that etith therof ony thing, ethir berith [berith it I. berith therof S.] , schal [he schal S.] waische his clothis, and schal [he schal S.] be vnclene `til to [vnto the IS. til to the K.] euentid. [verse 41] Al thing that crepith on [vpon IS.] erthe, schal be abhomy|nable, nether schal [it schal I.] be takun [Om. I. takun of ȝou S.] in to mete. [verse 42] `What euer [and whateuer W.] thing goith on [vpon IS.] the brest and foure [on foure IS.] feet, and hath many feet, ethir drawun [is drawun IS.] bi the erthe, ȝe schulen not ete [ete it I.] , for it is abhomynable [abhom. to ete S.] . [verse 43] Nyle ȝe defoule

ȝoure soulis, nether touche ȝe ony thing of [verse 44] tho [hem I.] , lest ȝe ben vnclene; for Y am ȝoure Lord God; be ȝe hooli, for Y am hooli. Defoule ȝe not ȝoure soulis in ech crep|ynge `beeste which [thing that IS.] is moued [Om. S.] on [vpon IS.] erthe; [verse 45] for Y am the Lord, that ladde ȝou out of the lond of Egipt, that Y schulde be to ȝou in to God; ȝe schulen be hooli, for Y am hooli. [verse 46] This is the lawe of lyuynge beestes, and of foulis, and of ech lyuynge soule [thing plures.] which [that IS.] is moued in watir, and [verse 47] crepith in erthe; that ȝe knowe differences [the differences IS.] of clene thing and vnclene, and that ȝe wite what ȝe schulen ete, and what ȝe owen forsake [to forsake IS.] .
