[verse 1] Thanne Moises song, and the sones of Israel, this song to the Lord [Lord God E.] ; and thei seiden, Synge we to the Lord, for he is magnefied [magnefied or maad grete S.] gloriousli; he castide [hath cast I.] doun the hors and the stiere [horsman I. stiere vp K.] in to the see. [verse 2] My strengthe and my preisyng is the Lord; and [Om. EP.] he is maad to me in to heelthe. This is my God, and Y schal glorifie hym; the God [Lord S.] of my fadir [fadris S.] , and Y schal enhaunse hym. [verse 3] The Lord is as [Om. IS.] a man fiȝter, his [verse 4] name is Almiȝti; he castide doun in to the see the charis of Farao, and his oost. Hise chosun princis weren drenchid in the

[verse 5] reed see; the depe watris hiliden hem; thei ȝeden doun in to the depthe as a stoon. [verse 6] Lord, thi riȝthond is magnyfied in strengthe; Lord, thi riȝthond smoot the enemye. [verse 7] And in the [Om. I. thi LP.] mychilnesse [multitude A sec. m. I.] of thi [the E.] glorie thou hast put doun alle myn [In Ebru it is thin aduersa|ries. GQX.] ad|uersaries; thou sentist thin ire, that de|uouride hem as stobil [the stobil I. a stob. S.] . [verse 8] And watris weren gaderid in the spirit of thi woodnesse [woodnesse, that is, of thi gret veniaunce BCQX. W. that is, of thi veniaunce G. W. that is, gret v. K. W. that is, thi g. v. N.] ; flowinge watir stood, depe watris weren gaderid in the [Om. IS.] middis of the see. [verse 9] The enemy seide, Y schal pursue, and Y schal take; Y [and Y O.] schal departe spuylis [spoile E.] , my soule [soule, that is, wille BCEGIKNPQX. S. that is, my wille S.] schal be fillid [ful|fillid IS.] . I schal drawe out my swerde; myn hond schal sle hem. [verse 10] Thi spirit [the spirit of God IS.] blew, and the see hilide hem; thei weren drenchid as leed in grete wa|tris. [verse 11] Lord, who is lijk thee in stronge men, who is lijk thee? thou art greet [a greet IS.] doere in hoolynesse; ferdful [feerful IS.] , and preisa|ble, and doynge myraclis. [verse 12] Thou heldist forth thin hond, and the erthe deuouride [verse 13] hem; thou were ledere in thi merci to thy puple, which [the which I.] thou aȝen bouȝtist; and thou hast bore [bifor ELP.] hym in thi [the E.] strengthe to thin holi dwellyng place. [verse 14] Puplis stieden [wenten vp I. stieden vp S.] , and weren wroothe; sorewis helden [heleden F. hiliden S.] the dwelleris of Filistiym. [verse 15] Thanne the pryncis of Edom weren disturblid [distrublid IS.] ; tremblyng held the stronge men of Moab. [verse 16] Alle the dwell|eris of Canaan `weren starke [dredden, or were acumbred IS.] ; inward drede falle on hem, and outward drede in the greetnesse of thin arm. Be thei maad vnmouable as a stoon, til thi puple passe, Lord; til this [Om. LPX.] thi [Om. EM.] puple passe, whom thou weldidist [weldist GLS. hast in possessioun I.] . [verse 17] Thou schalt brynge hem in, and thou schalt plaunte [plaunte hem IKS.] in the [thin E.] hil of thin eritage; in the moost stidefast dwellyng place which [that IS.] thou hast wrouȝt, Lord; Lord, thi seyntuarie, which [the which I.] thin hondis made [makiden K.] stidefast. [on horse I. Om. S.] , entride with his charis and knyȝtis [horsmen IS.] in to the see, and the Lord brouȝte the watris of the se on hem; sotheli the sones of Israel ȝeden bi the drie place, in the [Om. IOSX sec. m.] myddis of the see. [verse 20] Therfore Marie, pro|fetesse [the profetesse ILS.] , the [Om. IS.] `sistir of Aaron [Aaron sister S.] , took a tym|pan in hir hond, and alle the wymmen ȝeden out aftir hyr [Om. L.] with tympans and [verse 21] cumpanyes; to [the I. bifore S.] whiche sche song bifore [Om. S.] , and seide, Synge we to the Lord, for he is magnyfied [maad greet IS.] gloriousli; he castide [hath cast IS.] doun in to the see the hors and the [Om. EMN sec. m. OPX.] stiere [rider IS.] of hym. [verse 22] Forsothe Moises took Israel fro the reed see, and thei ȝeden out in to the [Om. EX.] de|seert of Sur, and thei ȝeden thre daies bi the wildirnesse, and thei founden not wa|tir [watris E sup. ras.] . [verse 23] And thei camen in to Marath, and thei miȝten not drynk the watris of Ma|rath, for tho [thei IS.] weren bittere; wherfor and [Om. GO.] he [Moises IS.] puttide [putte IMS.] a couenable name to the [that IS.] place, and clepide [he clepide IS.] it Mara, that is, bitternesse. [verse 24] And the puple grutchide aȝens Moises, and seide, What schulen we drynke? [verse 25] And Moises criede to the Lord, which [the which I.] schewide to hym a tre; and whanne he [Moises IS.] hadde put that tre in to [Om. S.] watris [the watris plures.] , tho weren turned in to swetnesse. There the Lord ordeyn|ede comaundementis and domes to the pu|ple, [verse 26] and there he asayede the puple, and seide, If thou schalt here the vois of thi Lord God, and schalt do that that is riȝt|ful byfore hym, and schalt obeie to his comaundementis [heestes IS.] , and schalt kepe alle hise heestis [biddyngis IS.] , Y schal not brynge yn on thee al the syknesse, which Y puttide [haue putt IS.] in E|gipt, for Y am thi Lord Sauyour.
