CAP. XV.

[verse 1] And the Lord spak to Moyses, seiynge, [verse 2] Spek to the sones of Yrael, and thow shalt seye to hem, Whanne ȝe weren goon into the loond of ȝoure dwellynge [verse 3] that I shal ȝyue to ȝow, and shulen doo offrynge to the Lord into brent sacrifice, or slayn pesible sacrifice, quytynge the auowes, othir wilfulli offrynge ȝiftis, other in ȝoure solempnytees brennynge smelle of swetnes [sootnes E passim.] to the Lord, of oxen, or of [verse 4] sheep [sheep schal offer BDEFH.] ; who so euer [er E.] offrith slayn of|frynge, the sacrifies of tryed flour, the tenthe part of ephi, spreynt with oyle, the which the mesure shal haue the [verse 5] fourthe part of hyn, and wyn to helde the sacrifices of licours, of the same me|sure, he shal ȝyue into brent sacrifyce, or into slayn. [verse 6] Bi eche loombis and wethers shal be the sacrifice of tryed flour, of two dymes, that be spreynt with oyle, of the [verse 7] thridde part of hyn; and wyn to the sa|crifice of licour, of the thridde part of the same mesure, he shal offre into the smelle of swetnes to the Lord. [verse 8] Whanne for|sothe of oxen he doth brent sacrifice, other oost, that thow fulfille the vowe, [verse 9] other pesible slayn sacrifices, thow shalt ȝyue, bi eche oxen, of tryed flour ten dymes, spreynt with oyle, that shal haue [verse 10] half of the mesure of hyn, and wyn to [to helde E pr. m.] the sacrifices of [Om. BEFH.] licours to ben helde, of the same mesure, into offrynge of moost swete [soot E passim.] smell to the Lord. [verse 11] So ȝe shulen [verse 12] doo bi eche oxen, and wethers, and [verse 13] loombes, and geetis; as wel with ynne [verse 14] getun as pilgrymes with the same rijt [verse 15] shulen offre sacrifices; o maundement shal be and dome, as wel to ȝow as to the comlyngis of the loond. [verse 16] The Lord [verse 17] spak to Moyses, seiynge, Spek to the sones of Yrael, and thow shalt seie to

[verse 18] hem, Whanne ȝe comen into the loond [verse 19] that I shal ȝyue to ȝou, and eete of the looues of that regioun, ȝe shulen seuer [verse 20] the first fruytis to the Lord of ȝoure meetis; as of the flores the [of the A.] first fruytis [verse 21] ȝe shulen seuere, so and of sowelis ȝe shulen ȝyue the first fruytis to the Lord. [verse 22] That if bi ignoraunce ȝe passen bisides eny thing of thes that the Lord hath [verse 23] spokun to Moyses, and hath comaundide bi hym to ȝow, fro the day that he bi|gunne [verse 24] to comaunde, and ouer, and weren forȝetun to do, the multitude shal offre a calf of the droue, brent sacrifice into moost swete smelle to the Lord, and sa|crifices of it, and offerd lycours, as the cerymonyes of it axen, and a goot for synne. [verse 25] And the preest shal preye for al the multitude of the sones of Irael, and it shal be forȝeuen [forȝeuen to al the folc of the sones A.] , for not wilfuli thei synneden; netheles offrynge the encens to the Lord for hem silf, and for synne, [verse 26] and her errour; and it shal be forȝouun to al the folk of the sones of Irael, and to the comlyngis that pilgrymagen a|monges hem, for the blame is of al the puple bi ignoraunce. [verse 27] That if a lijf vn|knowynge synne, he shal offre a she goot [verse 28] of o ȝeer for his synne; and the preest shal preye for hym, for vnwityngly he synnede before the Lord; and he shal purchase to hym forȝyuenes, and it shal be forȝeue to [Om. BDEFH.] hym. [verse 29] As wel to the with|ynne born as to the comlyngis, o lawe shal be of alle that synnen vnknowynge. [verse 30] A lijf forsothe that bi pride eny thing of synne doth, whether citeseyn he be, other pilgrime, for aȝens the Lord he was rebel, [verse 31] he shal perishe fro his puple; the word forsothe of the Lord he dispiside, and the heest of hym he made at nouȝt; therfor he shal be doon awey, and he shal bere his wickidnes. [verse 32] And it was doon whanne the sones of Yrael weren in wildernes,

and thei fonden a man gederynge stikkis [verse 33] in the holi day, thei brouȝten hym to Moyses and Aaron, and to al the multi|tude; [verse 34] the whiche closeden hym into pri|soun, vnknowynge what vpon hym thei oweden [owten D.] to doo. [verse 35] And the Lord seide to Moyses, Bi deeth die this man; throw hym down with stonus al the folk `with out [out of BDEFH.] the tentis. [verse 36] And whanne thei had|den ladde hym with out, thei threwen hym down with stonus, and he was deed, as the Lord comaundide. [verse 37] And the Lord [verse 38] seide to Moyses, Spek to the sones of Yrael, and thou shalt seie to hem, that thei maken to hem [Om. ABFH. to him D.] hemmes bi foure corners of the mantils, puttynge in hem [verse 39] iacynctyn filetis; the whiche whanne thei seen, thei recorden of alle the maunde|mentis of the Lord, that thei folowen not her owne thouȝtis and eyen, by dyuerse [verse 40] thingis lecherynge; but more thei hau|ynge mynde of the heestis of the Lord, doon hem, and ben holy to her God [good A.] . [verse 41] I the Lord ȝoure God, that haue ladde ȝow out of the loond of Egipte, that Y were ȝoure God.
