[verse 1] And I siȝe, that the lomb hadde [Om. SY.] openid oon of the seuen [Om. O.] signetes. And Y herde oon of the foure beestis seiynge, as a [the S.] voys of thundre, Come, and see. [verse 2] And I siȝe, `and lo [as O.] ! a whijt hors; and he that sat on [vpon T.] him hadde a bowe, and a [Om. O.] coroun is [was V.] ȝouun to him. And he wente out ouercomynge, that he shulde ouercome. [verse 3] And whan he hadde openyd the secounde seel, I herde the secounde beest seiynge, Come thou, and see. [verse 4] And an other reed hors wente out; and it is [was V.] ȝouun to him `that sat on [vpon T.] him [him power T.] , that he shulde take pees fro erthe [the erthe AG sec. m. NOSVXY.] , and that thei slee [schulden slea T.] to gydere hem [him SVY.] silf; and a greet swerd is ȝouun to him. [verse 5] And whan he hadde openyd the thridde seel, I herde the thridde beest seiynge, Come thou [Om. X.] , and see. And loo! a [Om. O.] blak hors; and he that sat vpon [on ANOQSVX.] him hadde a balaunce in his hond. [verse 6] And I herde as [Om. A pr. m. O.] a voys in the mydle of foure [the foure A pr. m.] beestis, seiynge, A bilibre of whete, `that is, a weyȝt of two pound [Om. V in text.] , for oo peny, and thre bilibres of barly for oo [a VX.] peny; and hirte thou not wijn, and oyle. [verse 7] And whan he hadde openyd the fourthe seel, I herde a voys of the fourthe beest, seiyng, Come thou, and see. [verse 8] And loo! a paal hors; and the [Om. G pr. m.] name Deeth [of Deeth O. was Deth V.] to him that sat on [vpon T.] him, and helle [deth S.] suede him. And power is [was V.] ȝouun to him on [vpon T.] foure partis [partyes ANOPQST.] of the [Om. SX.] erthe, for [Om. SX.] to sle with swerd, and hungre, and deeth, and with [Om. den. [verse 10] And thei crieden with greet voys, seiynge, Hou longe, Lord [thou, Lorde AG sec. m. NOSVXY.] , holy [that art hooly V.] and trewe, demyst thou [Om. ANQSVXY.] not, and vengist [vengist not V.] our blood of thes that dwellen in erthe? [verse 11] `And whijte stooles [and to hem ben ȝouen synguler whijt stoolis T.] , `for ech soule a stoole [Om. Q.] erthe, as a fijge tree sendith his vnripe fyges, whan it is mouyd of a greet wijnd. [verse 14] And heuen wente awey, as a book infoldid [wlappid yn ANOQSVXY.] ; and all mounteyns and ijles [hillis X.] ben [weren V.] moued fro her places. [verse 15] And kinges of erthe, and princes, and tribunes, and riche, and stronge, and ech seruaunt [boond man V.] , and fre man, hidden hem in dennes and stoones of hillis. [verse 16] And thei seien to hillis and stoonys, Falle ȝe on [vpon T.] us, and hijde ȝe us fro the face of [on N.] the [Om. NX.] sittynge on [vpon T.] troone [the trone X.] , and fro wrath [the wraththe OX.] of the lomb; [verse 17] for the greet day of her wrath cometh, and who shal mowe [mai NY. Om. T.] stonde?
