[verse 1] And I siȝe in the riȝthalf [riȝthond TV.] of the sittinge [sittere V.] vpon [on ANOQSVXY.] the troone, a book writun with inne and with oute, and seelid with seuen seelis. [verse 2] And I [Om. X.] siȝe a strong aungel, preching with greet voys [voys, and seyinge O.] , Who is worthi for [Om. SX.] to opene the boke, and for [Om. SX.] to vnbynde the signetes [signes O. singnetis, either seelis V.] of it? [verse 3] And `no man miȝte [noon V.] in heuene, nether in erthe, nether vndir erthe opene [myȝte opene V.] the book, ne [neither NV.] biholde [hold T.] it. [verse 4] And I wepte miche, for `no man is [noon was V. no man worthi is Y.] founden worthi [Om. Y.] for [Om. SX.] to opene the book, nether for [Om. SX.] to see it. [verse 5] And oon of the eldre [eldre men TX.] seide to me, Wepe thou not; lo! a lyoun of the

lynage of Juda, the rote of Dauid, hath ouercomen for [Om. SX.] to opene the book, and for [Om. SX.] to vnbynde the [Om. O.] seuen signetes [signetis, or smale sealis ANOSY. singnetis, either smale seelis V.] of it. [verse 6] And I siȝe, and lo! in the [Om. T.] mydle of the troone, and `in the mydle [in mydle T. Om. V.] of foure [the foure T.] beestes, and in the [Om. T.] mydle of eldre [the eldrys AOSVY. eldris NQ. eldre men T.] , a lomb stondinge as sleyn, hauynge seuene hornes, and seuen iȝen, the [Om. VX.] whiche ben seuen [the seuene X.] spirites of God, sent into ech lond. [verse 7] And he cam, and toke of the riȝthond [riȝthalf ANOQSX.] of the sittinge [sittere V.] in troone [the trone V.] the book. [verse 8] And whan he hadde openyd the book, foure [the foure T.] beestes and foure and twenty eldre [elder men OST.] fellen doun bifore the lomb; hauynge ech of hem harpes, and golden fioles ful of saueringis [saueringis, ether swete odouris V.] , whiche ben the [Om. X.] preyers of seyntis. [verse 9] And thei sungen a newe song, seiynge, Lord [Lord oure God V.] , thou art worthi for [Om. SX.] to take the boke, and [Om. N.] for [Om. SX.] to opene the signetes of it; for thou were slayn, and aȝen bouȝtist us to God in thi blood, of al [ech V.] lynage, and [or Q.] tunge [tunge, or langagis AN. tunge, or langage S. tunge, either langage V.] , and [in A.] pu|ple [puplis N.] , [verse 10] and nacioun; and madist us [Om. G pr. m.] `to oure God [Om. V.] kingdom [a kyngdom TV.] , and prestis [prestis to oure God V.] ; and we shulen regne vpon [on SVX.] erthe. [verse 11] And I siȝe, and herde the voys [voyces O.] of many aungels in cumpas [the compas AG sec. m. NOQSVXY.] of the [Om. AOQV.] trone, and of beestes, and of [Om. ANQSVXY.] eldre [eelder men OT. eldris V.] . And the nombre of hem `was a [Om. V.] thousynd [thousindis V.] [verse 12] of thousyndis, seiynge with greet voys, The lomb that is [was V.] slayn, is worthi for [Om. SX.] to take vertu, and `diuynite, or godhed [dignite O. dyuynyte QX. diuynite, ether godhed V. dignyte, or godhede Y.] , and wisdom, and strengthe, and honour, and glory, and blessing. [verse 13] And ech creature that is in heuen, and that on [is on the G sec. m. is vpon T. is on V.] erthe, and vnder [that vnder X.] erthe, and the se, and whiche thinges ben [that ben N.] in it, I herde alle seiynge, To the sittynge in troone, and to the lomb, blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, in to world|lis [the worldlis G sec. m.] of worldlis. [verse 14] And the [Om. Q.] foure beestes seiden, Amen. And the foure and twenty `eldre men [senyours, or eldere men ANQSY. senyouris, either eldre men V. elderes X.] felden doun `in to [on V.] her facis,

and worschipeden the lyuynge in to world|lis of worldlis.
