[verse 1] And to the aungel of the chirche of Ephesus [Effecie NX.] wrijte thou, Thes thinges seith he, that holdith [halt X.] seuen [the seuen T.] sterres in [on SY.] his [the O.] riȝthalf [riȝt hond TV.] , the [Om. VX.] which [that X.] walkith in the mydle of seuen golden candelstickis. [verse 2] I woot thi werkes, and [and thi G sec. m. T.] trauel, and thi pacyence, and for [that V.] thou mayst not suffre [susteyne ANOQSXY.] yuel men; and thou hast temptid [asayed OV.] , `or asayed [Om. OVX. or sayed S.] , hem that seien hem silf for [Om. SX.] to be apostles, and [and thei N.] ben not, and thou hast founden hem liȝers; [verse 3] and thou hast pacience, and thou hast sustenyd [suffrid TV.] for my name, and fayledist not. falle, and do penaunce, and do the firste werkes; `if not [ellis sothely G sec. m. or ellis N. ȝif not thou do penaunce T. either ellis V.] , I come soone to thee, and shal [Y schal AGOPQSTVX.] moue thi candelsticke of [fro NV.] his place, `no but [but if OX.] thou shalt do penaunce. [verse 6] But thou hast this good thing, for [that V.] thou hatedist [hatist V.] `the dedes of [Om. N.] Nycholaytis, `or folewers of Nychol [that saiden men schulden haue her wijues in comoun T. Om. X.] , the [Om. QS.] whiche [whom T.] and I hatede [hate V.] . [verse 7] He that hath eres, here, what the spirit `shal seie [seith V.] to the [Om. ANQSVXY.] chirchis. To `the ouercomynge [him that ouercometh V.] I shal ȝiue for [Om. OSX.] to ete of the tree of lijf, that is in paradise [the paradise AG sec. m. NOV.] of my God. [verse 8] And to the aungel of the chirche of Smyrma, wrijte thou, Thes thinges seith the first and the last, that was deed, and lyueth. [verse 9] I woot thi tribulacioun, and thi pouert, but thou art riche [riche in grace T.] ; and thou art blasfemyd of hem, that seien hem silf for [Om. SX.] to be Jewes, and ben not, but thei [Om. ANOQSVXY.] ben the synagoge of Sathanas. [verse 10] Drede thou no thing of thes [thes perelis T.] whiche thou `art to [schalt V.] suffringe [suffrin SX. suffre V.] . Lo! the deuel `is to [schal V.] send|inge [senden SX. sende V.] summe of ȝou in to prisoun, that ȝe be temptid [taasted O. proued T.] ; and ȝe shulen haue tribula|cioun in ten dayes. Be thou feithful vnto [til into A pr. m. til to A sec. m. G pr. m. NOQSVXY.] the deeth, and I shal ȝiue to thee a coroun of lijf. [verse 11] He that hath eres, here, what the [Om. O.] spirit `shal seie [seith V.] to the [Om. ANQSVY.] chirchis. He that shal ouercome, shal not be hirt of the secounde deeth. [verse 12] And to the aungel of the chirche of Pergame [Pergamus ANSVXY.] wrijte thou, Thes thinges seith he, that hath the swerd sharp on [in SY.] `either sijde [eche part ANOSVX sec. m. Y. eche side Q.] . [verse 13] I woot where thou dwellist, where the [Om. Q.] seete of Sathanas is; and thou holdist my name, and denyest [denyedest NOSVXY.] not my feith. SX.] to do fornycacioun; [verse 15] so and thou hast men holdinge the teching of Nycholaytis. [verse 16] Also do thou penaunce; if not [eny thing lesse V.] , I shal `soone come [come soone VY.] to thee, and I shal fiȝte with hem in [with Q. in the V.] swerd of my mouth. [verse 17] He that hath eres, here, what the spirit `shal seie [seith V.] to the [Om. ANOQSVXY pr. m.] chirchis. To `the ouer|comynge [the ouercomere S. hym that ouercometh V.] I shal ȝiue [ȝyue to hym AG sec. m. NOQSXY pr. m.] `manna hid, or aun|gel mete [aungels met hid ANOQS. aungel mete hid VXY pr. m.] ; and I shal ȝiue to him a whijt stoon, and in the stoon a newe name writ|un, the [Om. [verse 18] And to the aungel of the chirche of Tyatira wrijte thou, Thes thinges seith the sone of God, that hath iȝen as flaume of fijr, and his feet lijk to [the V.] `drosse of gold [latoun T. gold, either latoun V.] . [verse 19] I haue [Om. V.] knowe thi werkes, and feith, and charite, and `my|nisterie, or [Om. O. the mynysterie, either V. mynysterie X.] seruice [thi seruice T. Om. X.] , and thi [Om. O.] pacience, and thi laste werkes mo [more V.] than the [thi T.] for|mer. [verse 20] But I haue aȝens thee a fewe thinges; for thou suffrist [hast suffrid SY.] the womman Jezabel, the [Om. VX.] which [that X.] seith hir [hir self T.] for [Om. SX.] to be a prophetesse, for [Om. SX.] to teche and deceyue my seruauntes, for [Om. SX.] to do leccherie, and for [Om. SX.] to ete of thingis [thing QS.] offrid to ydolis. [verse 21] And I ȝaf to hir tyme, `that she shulde [for to T.] do penaunce, and she wole not do penaunce of hir fornicacioun. [verse 22] Lo [And lo! V.] ! I sende hir in to a bed, and thei that don leccherie with hir shulen be in moost tribulacioun, no [Om. TX.] but if [Om. ANOQSY.] thei do penaunce of [for T.] her werkis. [verse 23] And I [Om. T.] shal slee hir sones in [into V.] deeth, and alle chirches shulen wite, for [that V.] I am sekinge reynes and hertes; and I shal ȝiue to ech man of ȝou aftir [vp AOQSXY. bi V.] his [Om.
