CAP. XI.
[verse 1] And a `mesure lijk to [reeid, either mesure, lijk V.] a ȝerd is [was V.] ȝouun to me, and it is [was V.] seid to me, Rise thou, and mete the temple of God, and the auter, and men worschipinge in it. [verse 2] For|sothe caste [caste thou V.] out the porche [forȝerd V.] , that is with out forth [Om. V.] the temple, and mete it not; for it is ȝouun to hethen men, and thei shulen defoule the holy citee bi fourty monethis and two [twenti A. tweyne NOQV.] . [verse 3] And I shal ȝiue to my two [tweye NOQV.] witnesses, and thei shulen prophecie a thousynd dayes two hundrid and sixty, thei [Om. TX. and thei schulen be V.] clothid [clad SX.] with sackis. [verse 4] Thes ben two [tweyne ANOQV.] olyues, and two [twey ANOQV.] candelstickes, `ȝeuynge liȝt [Om. V.] , thei [Om. QTX. and thei V.] stondinge [stonden V.] in the [Om. T.] siȝt of the Lord of erthe. [verse 5] And if ony man `shal wolen [wole V.] for [Om. SVX.] to anoiȝe [noȝen S.] hem, fijr shal go out of the mouth of hem, and shal de|uoure her enemyes. And if ony [eny man T.] `shal wolen [wole V.] for [Om. SVX.] to hirte hem, thus it bihoueth him [hem N.] for [Om. SX.] to be slayn. [verse 6] Thes han power `of shittinge [for to schitte O. to schitte V.] heuen, that it rayne not in the [tho T.] dayes [dai X.] of her prophecie [prophecies X.] ; and thei han power on [of N. vpon T.] watirs, `of turnynge hem [to turne V.] in to blood; and for [Om. SX.] to smyte the erthe with `al plage [a wonde O. al wounde T. al plage, either veniaunce V.] , and hou ofte euer thei `shulen
