[verse 3] Of the [Om. VX.] whiche be not with outeforth curious ournyng of heer, or [Om. G pr. m. either V.] doyng aboute of gold, or [Om. G pr. m. either V.] ournyng of clothinge [cloothis N.] of vestymentis [clothis V.] ; [verse 4] but `the ilke [that X.] that is the [Om. [verse 1] Therfore Crist [for Crist V.] suffringe [suffride V.] in flesch, and be ȝe armed bi [in O.] the same thenking; for he that suffride [soffrith NOX.] in flesch ceesith [ceeside V.] fro synnes, [verse 2] that he lyue not now to the desijris of men, but to the wille of God, that [that that V sec. m.] is more of [Om. T.] tyme in flesch. [verse 3] Sotheli [For V.] the tyme passid is ynowȝ to the wille of hethen men to be endid, the [Om. V.] whiche walkiden in leccheries, in desijris, in miche drinkinge of wijn, ofte [in ofte V.] etyngis, drinkingis [and drynkynges NSVX. Om. [verse 1] Therfore I, euene eldre [eldre and a witnesse of Cristis passiouns V.] , biseche the eldre men that ben in ȝou, `and I witnesse

[verse 2] Fede ȝe the flok of God, that is in ȝou, purueiynge [and purueye ȝe V.] not con|streynyngli, but wilfulli, up [bi V.] God; not for grace, `or loue [Om.
