[verse 1] Therfore whanne [thanne K.] Festus cam into pro|uynce [the prouynce G sec. m. NSVX.] , aftir the thridde day he assendide to Jerusalem fro Cesarie. [verse 2] And the princes [prynce N.] of prestis, and the firste of Jewis wenten to him aȝens Poul, and preieden [verse 3] him [Om. N.] , axinge [askynge Q.] grace aȝens him, that he schulde comaunde him for [Om. SX.] to be led to [in to G sec. m.] Jerusalem; settinge [and thei settiden V.] aspies for [Om. SX.] to sle hym in the weye. [verse 4] Sothli Festus answeride, Poul [that Poule V.] `for to be [to be SX. schulde be V.] kepte in Cesarie; `him sothly to [sothli that he himself schulde V.] goynge [go SVX.] forth more rypeli [hasteli O.] , `or hasteli [Om. OX.] . [verse 5] Therfore he seith [seide V.] , Thei that in ȝou ben myȝti [in myȝti X.] , comynge [come V.] doun to gidere; if [and if V.] ony cryme is in the man, accuse [accuse thei TV.] him. [verse 6] Sothli he dwellinge [dwellide V.] a mong hem no more than eiȝte or [either V fere pass.] ten [twelf O.] dayes, cam [and cam V.] doun to Cesarie; and `that othir [the tother AGMNOPQSTVX.] day he sat for domesman, and comaundide Poul for [Om. SX.] to be `ledd to [brouȝt V.] . [verse 7] Which whanne he [Om. AGKQSTX.] was ledd [brouȝt forth V.] , Jewis stooden `aboute him [nyȝ S.] , the [Om. V.] whiche camen doun fro Jerusalem, puttinge [and puttinge V.] aȝens [aȝens him GOTV.] manye and [Om. G pr. m. STV.] greuouse causis, whiche thei myȝten not proue. [verse 8] Sothli [For sothli V.] Poul ȝeldinge [ȝeeldide V.] resoun [resoun in alle thingis V.] , For nethir into [aȝens V.] the lawe of Jewis,
