[verse 1] Therfore whanne [thanne K.] Festus cam into pro|uynce [the prouynce G sec. m. NSVX.] , aftir the thridde day he assendide to Jerusalem fro Cesarie. [verse 2] And the princes [prynce N.] of prestis, and the firste of Jewis wenten to him aȝens Poul, and preieden [verse 3] him [Om. N.] , axinge [askynge Q.] grace aȝens him, that he schulde comaunde him for [Om. SX.] to be led to [in to G sec. m.] Jerusalem; settinge [and thei settiden V.] aspies for [Om. SX.] to sle hym in the weye. [verse 4] Sothli Festus answeride, Poul [that Poule V.] `for to be [to be SX. schulde be V.] kepte in Cesarie; `him sothly to [sothli that he himself schulde V.] goynge [go SVX.] forth more rypeli [hasteli O.] , `or hasteli [Om. V.] ȝyue grace to the Jewis, answeringe [and answeride V.] to Poul, seide [and seide V.] , Wolt thou as|sende to Jerusalem, and there be demed of these thingis at me? [verse 10] Sothli Poul seide, At the dom place of Cesar I stonde, where it bihoueth me for [Om. SX.] to be demyd. I haue not noyed to the Jewis, as thou `hast betere knowun [knowest betere V.] . [verse 11] Sothli [For V.] if I haue noyed, or don ony thing worthi deeth, I forsake not for [Om. SX.] to deie; sothli if no thing of these [tho V.] is, that thei accusen me, no man may ȝyue me to hem. [verse 12] `Cesar I apele [I apele to Cesar V.] . [verse 14] And whanne thei dwelliden there manye dayes, Festus schewide to the king of Poul, seiynge [and seide V.] , Sum man is left boundun [verse 15] of Felix, of which [the whiche S.] , whanne I was at Jeru|salem, princes of prestis and eldere men of Jewis camen to me, axinge [and axden OV. askynge Q.] dampnacioun aȝens him. [verse 16] To whom [whiche V.] I answeride, It [That it V.] is not custom to Romayns, for [Om.
