[verse 1] Saul, ȝit [ȝit a MNPQTVY.] brethere, `or blowere [Om. QX.] , of ma|nassis and [and of TV.] betyng, `or sleyng [Om. OQVX.] , into [aȝens V.] disciplis of the Lord, cam nyȝ to the [verse 2] princes [prince AGMNOQSTXY.] of prestis, and axide of him epi|stlis [letteres O. epistlis, either comyssiouns V.] into Damaske, to synagogis; that if he founde ony men and wymmen of this lyf, he schulde lede [leden aboute Q. lede hem V.] boundyn to Jerusa|lem. [verse 3] And whanne he made iourney, it bifel, that he cam nyȝ to Damaske. And

sudeynly liȝt fro heuene schon aboute [verse 4] hym; and he fallinge [fallide V.] into [to OV.] the erthe, herde [and herde V.] a vois seyinge to hym, Saul, Saul, what pursuest thou me? [verse 5] The [Om. V.] which [and he O.] seide, Who art thou, Lord? And he [he seide ANV.] , I am Jhesu of Nazareth, whom thou pursu|est. It is hard to thee, for [Om. SX.] to kyke aȝens the pricke. [verse 6] And he `tremblinge and won|dringe [tremblide and wondride and V.] , seide, Lord, what wolt thou `me for to do [me to do SX. that I do V.] . [verse 7] And the Lord to [seide to NV.] him, Ryse thou, and entre in to the citee, and it schal be seide to thee, what `it bihoueth thee [thee byhoueth O.] for [Om. SX.] to do. Forsothe tho men that wenten with him, stooden maad ferd [aferd VX.] , `or out of mynde [Om. OQX.] ; sothli heeringe [thei herden V.] a vois, `forsothe seynge [but thei sien V.] no man. [verse 8] Forsothe Saul roos fro the erthe; and `the yȝen openyd [whanne he openide the iȝen V.] , he [Om. O.] syȝ no thing. Forsoth thei drawinge [drowen V.] him to [bi O. with V.] hondis, ledden [and ledden V.] into Damask. [verse 9] And he was thre daies not seynge; and he eet not, nether drank. [verse 10] Forsoth sum [a MPQTY.] disciple was at Damask, by name Ananye. And the Lord seide to him in a uisioun, Ana|nye. [verse 11] And he seith [seide V.] , Lo! I, Lord. And the Lord to [seide to NV.] him, Ryse thou, and go into a streete that is clepid Rectus; and seke, in the hous of Judas, Saul by name Tar|sence. [verse 12] Forsoth [For V.] lo! he preieth; and he syȝ a man Ananye by name, entringe and puttinge to hym hondis, that he receyue siȝt. [verse 13] Forsothe Ananye answeride, Lord, I haue herd of manye of this man, how `manye yuele thingis [greet yuelis V.] he dide to thi seyntis [verse 14] in Jerusalem; and this hath power of the [Om. X.] princes of prestis, for [Om. SX.] to bynde alle men that `inclepen thi name [clepen thi name to help V.] . [verse 15] Forsoth [And O.] the Lord seide to him, Go thou, for this is to me a vessel of chesyng, that he bere my name bifore hethen men, and kingis, and the sones of Israel. [verse 16] Forsothe I schal

schewe to him, how manye thingis it bi|houeth him for [Om. SX.] to suffre for my name. [verse 17] And [Om. SX.] Ananye wente, and entride into the hous; and `he puttinge [puttide V. puttende X.] to him the hondis, seide [and seide V.] , Saul brothir, the Lord Jhesu sente me, that apperide to thee in the weye, in which thou camest [came SX.] , that thou se, and be fulfillid with the Hooli Gost. [verse 18] And anon ther [Om. V.] felden from his yȝen as scalis, and he receyuede siȝt. And he `risinge is [roos and was V.] baptisid. [verse 19] And whanne he hadde takun mete, he was comfortid. Forsoth he was with disciplis [apostelles O. the disciplis PY.] , that weren at Damask, by summe dayes. [verse 20] And anoon he entrynge [entride V.] into the synagogis, prechide [and prechide V.] the Lord Jhesu, for this is the [Om. S.] sone of God. [verse 21] For|soth alle men that herden him, wondriden, and seiden, Wher [Whe|ther G et S passim X.] `this is not [is not he NOV.] that in|pugnide in Jerusalem hem that inclepiden [clepide to helpe V.] this name? and hidir to [for V.] this thing he cam, that he schulde lede hem bounden to the princes of prestis. [verse 22] Forsothe Saul moche more wexide [wax MQSTXY.] strong, and confoundide the Jewis that dwelliden at Damask, `afferm|ynge for [and affeerm|yde that V.] this is Crist. [verse 23] Forsoth whanne manye dayes weren fulfillid [fillid V.] , Jewis maden a counceil, that thei schulden slee him. [verse 24] Forsothe [And O.] the aspies of hem ben [weren V.] maad knowun to Saul. Forsothe [Forsothe and O.] thei kepten and [Om. OV.] the ȝatis day and nyȝt, that thei schulden sle him. [verse 25] Forsothe his disciplis `takynge him in [tooken him bi V.] nyȝt, `bi the wal leften him, sendinge doun in a leep [and leften him, and senten doun in a leep bi the walle V.] . [verse 26] Forsoth whanne he cam into [to TX pr. m.] Jerusalem, he `tempt|ide, or [Om. OX.] asaiede [saide T.] , for [Om. SX.] to ioyne him to disciplis [the disciplis MPQTY.] ; and alle dredden him, `not bi|leuynge [and bileeueden not V.] that he was a disciple. [verse 27] Forsoth Barnabas `ledde him takun [took and led him V.] to apostlis [the apostlis MPQTY.] , and telde to hem, how [how that Q.] in the weye he hadde seyn the Lord, and for [that V.] he spak to him, and how in Damask he dide tristily in the name of Jhesu. [verse 28] And he was with

hem, `entringe and goynge [and entride and ȝede V.] out [forth O.] in [Om. G pr. m. MPY. of SX.] Jeru|salem, doynge [and dide V.] tristily in the [Om. MPTY.] name of the Lord. [verse 29] And he spaak to [with VX.] hethene men, and disputide with Grekis. Forsothe thei souȝten for [Om. SX.] to sle him. [verse 30] The [Om. VX.] which thing whanne bretheren hadden knowe, thei ledden him in nyȝt to Cesarie, and leften to Tarsis. [verse 31] Sothli the chirche by al Judee, and Galile, and Samarie hadde pees, and was edifyed, walkinge in the [Om. MPQT.] drede of the Lord, and was fulfillid [fillide V.] with [in the N.] comfort of the Hooly Gost. [verse 32] Forsoth it is [was V.] maad, that Petre, the [Om. MOPQTY.] while [while that MY.] he passide alle [by alle T. aboute alle V.] , cam to the hooly men that dwelliden at Lidde. [verse 33] Forsothe he fond there sum man, Eneas by name, fro eiȝte ȝeris [ȝer S passim.] lig|ynge [liende SX.] in bedd; the [Om. V.] which was [Om. T.] syke in palesye. [verse 34] And Petre seith [seide V.] to him, Eneas, the Lord Jhesu Crist heele thee; ryse thou, and dresse [araie V.] to thee. And anoon he roos. [verse 35] And alle men [the men X.] that dwelliden at Lidde, and Sarone, syȝen hym, the [Om. V.] whiche ben [weren V.] conuertid to the Lord. [verse 36] Forsoth in Joppe was sum disciplisse [disciple X.] , bi name Ta|byta, the [Om. V.] which interpretid, is seid Dor|cas. This was ful of goode werkis and almesdedis, that sche dide. [verse 37] Forsoth it is [was V.] maad in tho dayes, that sche `maad syk [was sik and V.] deiede. The [Om. V.] whiche whanne thei hadde wayschun, thei puttiden [putten SX.] hir [Om. O.] in a `soup|yng place [soler V.] . [verse 38] Forsoth whanne Lidda was nyȝ fro Joppe, disciplis `heeringe for [herden that V.] Petre was in it, senten [and senten V.] twey men to him, prei|ynge [and preieden V.] , That thou tarie not for [Om. alii.] to come `til to [vnto MPY. to OQT.] vs. [verse 39] Sothli Petre `rysinge vp [roos up and V.] cam with hem. And whanne he cam [was comen V.] , thei ledden him into the `souping place [soler V.] . And alle widewis [the widewes MPQTY.] stooden aboute hym, wep|inge, and schewinge cootis and clothis, the [Om. VX.] whiche Dorcas maade to hem. [verse 40] For|sothe `alle men [whanne alle men weren V.] cast [don O. put V.] out withouteforth,

Petre `puttinge the knees [knelide and V.] , preiede. And he turnyd to the body, seide [and seide V.] , Tabita, ryse thou [vp O. thou, in name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist MPQTY.] . And sche openyde the [her V.] yȝen, and `Petre seyn [whanne sche siȝ Petir V.] , saat [she sat MPQTVY.] vp aȝen. [verse 41] Forsoth he ȝyuynge [ȝaf V.] to hir the hond, reyside [and reiside V.] hir. And whanne he hadde clepid hooly men and widewis, he assignede hir quyk. [verse 42] For|soth it is [was V.] maad knowun by al Joppe; and thei [many V.] bileuyden in the Lord. [verse 43] Forsoth it is [was V.] maad, that many dayes he dwellide in Joppe, at Symound, sum [a O.] coriour, `or tawier [or tawer AGMTY. Om. QX. either tawiere V.] .
