MPT.] aweye [faile GT.] . [verse 2] Forsoth [For V.] it is told to [also to V.] vs, as and to hem. And the word herd profitide [profitith T.] not to hem, not meynt [mengyd GMPSTX.] to feith of these thingis that thei herden. [verse 3] Forsoth [For V.] we that han by|leuyd schulen entre into rest, as he seyde, As I swoor in my wraththe, if [Om. NV.] thei schu|len [scholen not NV.] entre into my reste. And sotheli the [whanne the V.] werkis maad [weren maad V.] parfyt fro [forsothe O.] the ordynaunce [verse 4] of the world, forsothe [Om. V.] he seide thus in sum place of the seueneth day, And God restide in the seueneth day from alle his werkis. [verse 5] And in this [this place V.] eftsoone, If [Om. NV.] thei schulen entre [scholen not NV.] into my reste. [verse 6] Therfore for [Om. G pr. m. O.] it leeueth [sueth V. is ouer X.] , `or is ouer [Om. OVX. ouer T.] , summen [that summen V.] for [Om. SVX.] to [schulen V.] entre into it, and thei [thei first T.] to whiche [whom T.] the [Om. OT.] firste [Om. T.] it is [was V.] told, entriden not for her vnbileue. [verse 7] Eftsoone he termyneth sum day, `To day [Om. V.] , seyinge in Dauith [Dauith, To dai V.] , aftir so moche of tyme; as it is bifore seid, To day if ȝe han herd his vois [voice, in tyme of grace T.] , nyle ȝe hardne ȝoure hertis, `as in the ilke wraththing [Om. V. as in that wrathing X.] . [verse 8] Forwhi if Jhesus hadde ȝouyn reste to hem, he schulde neuere speke of othere aftir that [this V.] day. [verse 9] Therfore `saboth halow|ing [reste V.] is left to the peple of God. [verse 10] Forsoth [For V.] he that entride [entrith T.] into his reste, and he [he that V.]
