[verse 1] Forsothe wite thou this thing, that in the laste dayes perelouse tymes schulen [verse 2] `stonde nyȝ [neiȝe V.] , and men schulen be louynge hem silf, coueitous, hiȝ of beringe, proude, blasfemes [blasfemers V.] , not obedient to fadir and mo|dir [modir, in leful thing Q. modir, in leueful thingis T.] , [verse 3] vnkynde, cursid, withoute affeccioun, `or good wille [Om. MOPQTX.] , withoute pees, fals blam|eris [chalengers T.] , vncontynent [vncontynent, or vnchast QT.] , vnmylde, withoute be|nygnyte, [verse 4] traitours, proterue [ouerthwert OX. froward Q. frauward T.] , `or ouer|thwert [or fra|werd G. or ouerwhert, frowerd MP. Om. OQTX.] , bollun [bolned G sec. m. O. blowen X.] `with proude thouȝtis [Om. X.] , [verse 5] loueris [blinde louers V.] of lustis more than of God, hau|ynge sothli the spice [licnesse GMOPQT.] , `or licnesse [Om. GMOPQTX.] , of pite, forsothe [but V.] denyinge the vertu of it. And eschewe [ethchewe T.] thou these [these men QTV.] . [verse 6] Of these `sothli thei [forsothe thei G. forsothe it O.] ben that peersen housis, and leeden litle wymmen caytifs [caytif O.] chargid [chargen Y.] with synnes [synnys; for vertuouse wymmen dispisen hem QT.] , the [Om.
