[verse 1] Sotheli, britheren, I nyle ȝou for [Om. V.] stoon folow|ynge hem; forsoth the stoon was Crist. [verse 5] But not in ful manye of hem it was [is G.] wel [Om. [verse 6] Forsoth thes [thus Y.] thingis ben don in figure of vs, that we ben not coueyteris [coueitous X.] of yuelis, as and thei coueit|iden. [verse 9] Neither tempte we Crist, as summe of hem temptiden, and perischeden of ser|pentis. [verse 10] Neither grucche ȝe [wee S.] , as summe of hem grucchiden, and thei perischiden of a [the GMPQT.] wastour, `or distrier [Om. OX.] . [verse 11] Forsothe alle thes thingis [Om. SX.] to stonde, se [see he MOPQT.] , that he falle not. [verse 13] Temptacioun take not ȝou, no but mannus [mannes temptacioun V.] ; forsoth God is trewe, the [Om. [verse 20] But tho thingis that hethene men offren, thei offren to deuelis, and not to God. Forsoth I nyle ȝou for [Om. SV.] to [that ȝe V.] be maad felowis of fendis; for ȝe mown not drynke the cuppe of the Lord, and the [verse 21] cuppe of fendis [the fendis Y.] ; ȝe mown not be parce|neris of the boord of the Lord, and of [Om. V.] the boord of fendis. [verse 22] Wher we [ȝe O.] `suwen by [han V.] enuye the [to the V.] Lord? wher [whethir Y.] we ben strengere than he? Alle thingis ben leef|ful to me, but not alle thingis speden [speden, or helpen to my course Q.] . [verse 23] Alle thingis ben leefful [leeueful to me MQV.] , but not [Om. Q.] alle thingis edifyen [edifien not my neiȝbore Q.] . [verse 24] No man seke [sekith MO.] that thing that is his owne, but that thing that is of another [another, that is, that may edifie another Q.] . [verse 25] Al thing that cometh [is seld V.] in the

bocherie [bocherie, or in the plater GMPT.] , `ete ȝe [eteth X.] , no thing axynge for conscience [conscience of this mete or of this Q.] . [verse 32] Be ȝe withoute offencioun, `or sclaundre [Om. OX.] , to Jewis, and [and to W.] hethene men, and to the [verse 33] chirche of God; as and I by alle thingis plese to alle men [men withouten slaundre Q.] , not sechinge what [that at O. that that V.] is profitable to me, but `that that [that at O.] to [is profitable to V.] many men [men profitith Q.] , that thei be maad saaf.
