G pr. m. MNOPQTXY.] hondis, eeten. [verse 2] Sothli summe of the Pharisees seiden to hem, What don ȝe `this, that [that that AGMNPQSTW sec. m. XY. that at O. that W pr. m.] is not leefful in sabotis? [verse 3] And Jhesu answeringe seide to hem, `Neithir ȝe han [Han ȝe not MP.] rad this, that [that that AGMPQSTUWXY. that N. that at O.] Dauith dide, whanne he hungride, and thei that [verse 4] weren with him; hou he entride in to the hous of God, and took looues of propo|sicioun, and eet, and ȝaf to hem that weren with him; whiche looues [Om. X.] it was not leefful to [for to AGMNOPTUVWY.] ete, no [Om. O.] but to [oonli AGNPQST. oonly to MWXY.] preestis aloone. [verse 5] And he seide to hem, For mannis sone is lord, ȝe, of the saboth. drye. [verse 7] Forsothe scribis and Pharisees aspieden him, if he schulde heele him in the saboth, that thei schulden fynde cause, wherof `thei schulden [for to G pr. m. MPQTY. to NOX.] accuse him. [verse 8] Sothli he wiste the thouȝtis of hem, and he seith [sayde O.] to the man that hadde a drye hond, Rise vp, `and stond in to the myddel [into the myddle, and stoond MP.] . And he risinge stood. [verse 9] Sothli Jhesu seith to hem, I axe ȝou, if [Om. S.] it is leefful to [for to AGM NOPTY.] do wel in the sabot [sabboth day O.] , ether [or AGMNOPQSTWXY.] yuele? for [Om. SX.] to make a soule saf, ether [or AGMNOPQSTWXY.] for [Om. SX.] to leese? [verse 10] And, alle men lookide aboute, he seide to the man, Hold forth thin hond. [verse 17] And Jhesu comynge doun fro the hil with hem, stood in a feeld [feeldi SUVX. feelde Y.] place; and the cumpenye of his disciplis, and a plenteuous multitude of pore [smal, or pore AGMNPSTW. smal OQX. the pore U.] peple, of al Judee, and of [Om. souȝten for [Om. SX.] to touche him, for vertu wente out of him, and heelide alle. [verse 20] And, his yȝen reysid [cast AGMNOPQSTWXY.] vp in to his disciplis, he [and he O.] seide, Blessid be [Om. X.] ȝe, pore men [Om. X.] , for the kyngdom of God is ȝoure. [verse 21] Blessid be [Om. X.] ȝe, that `hungren now [now hungren GMXY.] , for ȝe schulen be fillid [fulfilde AGMNOPQSTWXY.] . Blessid be [Om. X.] ȝe, that `wepen now [now wepen GMXY.] , for ȝe schulen leyȝe [lauȝe U. laȝhen X.] . [verse 22] Ȝe schulen be bless|id, whanne men schulen hate ȝou, and schulen [Om. AGMNOPQSTWXY.] departe ȝou awey [Om. MPX.] , and schulen [Om. AGMNOPQSTWXY.] putte schenschip on ȝou, and schulen [Om. AGMNOPQSTWXY.] caste out ȝoure name as yuel, for mannis sone. [verse 23] Joye ȝe in herte in that day, and glade ȝe with oute forth; loo! sothli ȝoure mede is moche [mochel O.] in heuene; forsothe vp [aftir AGMNOPQSTWXY.] thes thingis the fadris of hem diden to pro|phetis. [verse 24] Netheles woo to ȝou, riche men, that han ȝoure comfort. [verse 25] Woo to ȝou that ben fulfillid [fillid UVX.] , for ȝe schulen hungre. [verse 30] Sothly ȝyue to ech axinge [askende X.] thee, and who [he that AGMNOPQSTWXY.] takith away tho thingis that ben thyne, axe thou not aȝeyn [aȝen with strijf MP.] . [verse 31] And as ȝe wolen that men do to ȝou, and do ȝe to hem in [on AGMNOPQTUVWXY.] lyk [lichy ANTW.] manere. [verse 32] And if ȝe louen hem that louen ȝou, what grace, `ethir thank [or thank A et ceteri. Om. X.] , is [Om. V.] to ȝou? for whi and synful men louen men louynge hem. [verse 33] And [Om. K.] if

ȝe don wel to hem that don wel to ȝou, what grace [thank MPU sec. m.] is to ȝow? sothly and synful men don this thing. [verse 34] And if ȝe `ȝyuen borwynge [ȝyuen borewing, or leenen MP. leuen U sec. m.] to hem, of whiche [whom MPXY.] ȝe hopen to [for to AGMNOPQTWY.] take aȝen, what grace [grace, or thank MP. thank U sec. m.] is to ȝou? for whi and synful men leenen to synful men, that thei taken aȝeyn euene thingis. [verse 35] Ne|theles loue ȝe ȝoure enemyes, and do [doth GQSXY. doith MP.] ȝe [Om. AGMNOPQSUVWXY.] wel, and ȝyue [leue U sec. m.] ȝe [Om. NW.] borwyng [borewing, or leeneth MP. Om. U sec. m.] , hopinge no thing [nothing hoping GMXY.] therof, and ȝoure mede schal be moche, and ȝe schulen be the [Om. [verse 36] Therfore be ȝe mercyful, as and ȝoure fadir is mercyful. [verse 37] Nyle ȝe deme, and ȝe schulen not be de|myd. Nyle ȝe condempne, and ȝe schulen not be condempned; `forȝyue ȝe [forȝifeth O.] , and it schal be forȝouun to ȝou. [verse 38] Ȝyue ȝe, and it schal be ȝouun to ȝou. Thei schulen ȝyue in to ȝoure bosum a good mesure, and wel [a wel O.] fillid [fulfillid G pr. m.] , and shakun to gidere, and ouer|flowynge; forsothe by the [Om. O.] same mesure, by which [the whiche O.] ȝe schulen mete, it schal be meten [motun O.] to ȝou. [verse 39] Sothli he seide to hem and a liknesse [licnesse, or ensaumple AGMNPTWY. licnesse, or exsaumple S.] , Whethir [Wher O.] a blynd man [Om. T.] may leede the [a O.] blynde? whethir thei falle not bothe in to the dyche? [verse 40] A disciple is not aboue the maistir; sothli ech [he O. ech disciple MP.] schal be perfyt, if he is [be AGMNOPQSWY. shul ben X.] as his maistir. [verse 41] Sothli what seest thou in thi brotheris yȝe `a festu, othir a mot [a festu, or mot AGQSTUVWY. a festu, or a mot MNP. a mot O. a festu X.] , but thou biholdist not a beem, `which is [that is AGMNOPQTWXY. Om. S.] in thi owne yȝe? [verse 42] Othir [Or AGMNOPQSTWXY.] hou maist [miȝt AT.] thou seye to thi bro|ther, Brother, suffre, I schal caste out a festu [festu, or a moot O. mot MPU sec. m.] of thin yȝe? thou biholdist not a beem in thin owne yȝe? Ypocrite, first tak [cast Q sec. m.] out the beem of thyn yȝe, and thanne thou schalt biholde, that thou lede out a festu [mot MOPU sec. m.] of thi brotheris yȝe. [verse 43] Forsothe it is not a good tree, that makith yuele frutis,

nother an yuele tree, that makith goode [verse 44] fruytis; sothli euery [eche X.] tree is knowun of his fruyt. Sothli neither men gederyn fygis of thornes, neither men gederyn a grape of a boysch of breris. [verse 45] A good man of the goode tresour [the tresour G.] of his herte bryngeth forth good thing, and an yuel man of yuel tresour, bryngith forth yuel thing; sothli of the [Om. K.] plente of the herte the mouth spekith. [verse 46] Forsothe what clepen [clepith Y.] ȝe me, Lord, Lord, and don not tho thingis that I seye. [verse 47] Ech that cometh to me, and heerith my wordis, and doth hem, I schal schewe to ȝou, to whom he is lyk [lichi MP.] . [verse 48] He is lyk [lychi MPT.] to a man bildinge an [Om. T.] hous, that [and P.] diggide [diggith AGMNOPQSTWXY.] deepe, and puttide [puttith OXY. putte S.] the founde|ment on [vpon O.] a stoon. Sothli greet flowing maad, flood was [is A pr. m. MNOPQSTXY.] hurtlid to that hous, and it myȝte not moue it, for it was foundid on [vpon O.] a sad stoon. [verse 49] Sothli he that heerith, and doth not, is lyk to a man bildinge his hous on [vpon AGMNOPQTWY.] erthe [the erthe Q.] with oute foundement; in to which the flood [flodes Q.] was [is AGMNOPSTWXY. Om. Q.] hurlid [hurtlid to AGTWY. hurlid to MNOPS. hurtlid QUX.] , and a non it felde doun; and the fallinge doun of that hous is maad greet.
