GMNOQSTWY.] John, the sone of Zacharie, in desert. [verse 3] And he cam in to al the cuntre of Jor|dan, prechinge baptym of penaunce in to remyscioun of synnes. [verse 4] As it is writun in the book of wordis [the wordis MP.] of Ysaye, the pro|phete, The voys of oon criynge in desert, Make ȝe redy the weye [weyes K.] of the Lord, make ȝe his pathis riȝt [riȝty K. riȝtful Q.] .
