[verse 1] Forsothe he seide also [and AGMNOPQSWXY. Om. T.] to his disciplis, Ther was sum riche man, that hadde a `fermour, ethir a baily [fermour, or baily AGMNPQSTWY. bayle O. baili X.] ; and this [ther W pr. m. he W man. sec.] was [is A pr. m. G pr. m. MPQSTXY. Om. N.] defamyd anentis [at AGMNOPQSTWXY.] him, as he hadde wastid his goodis. [verse 2] And he clepide him, and seide [saith AGMNOPQSTXY.] to him, What heere I this thing of thee? ȝeld resoun of thi ferme, for now thou schalt `not mowe [no more U.] holde thi [the AGMNOPQTW.] ferme. [verse 3] For|soth the fermour seide with ynne him silf, What schal I do, for my [the O.] lord takith awey fro me the ferme? `I may not delue [delue mai Y not MOPQTWXY.] , I `am aschamyd to [schame for to AGMNOPQTWY. shame to SX.] begge. [verse 4] I woot what I schal do, that whanne I schal be remouyd fro the ferme, thei receyue me in to her housis. [verse 5] And [And so AGMNPQSTWXY. And loo! O.] alle the dettours of the [his AGMNOPQSTUVWX.] lord clepid to gidere, he seide to the firste, Hou moche owist thou to my lord? [verse 6] And he seide to him, An hundrid barelis of oyle. And he seide to him, Taak thin [the N.] obli|gacioun [caucioun, or obligacioun AGMNOPQSTWY. kaucioun X.] , and sitte soon, and wryt fyfti. [verse 7] Aftirward he seyde to another, Sothli hou moche owist thou? `Which seide [The whiche saith AGMNOPQSTWXY.] , An hundrid mesuris of whete. And he seide to him, Tak thi lettris, and wryt foure score. [verse 8] And the lord preiside the fermour of wickidnesse, for he hadde don pru|dently; for the sones of this [the K.] world ben more prudent [prudent, or war AGMNPSTY.] in her generacioun than the sones of liȝt. [verse 9] `And I seie to ȝou, make [make ȝe AG sec. m. OSUV sec. m. W.] to ȝou frendes of the [Om. QXY.] richesse [richesses O. riches Q.] of wickidnesse, that whan ȝe shulen fayle, thei receyue ȝou in to euerlastynge taber|naclis
