CAP. XI.
[verse 1] And whanne Jhesus `cam nyȝ [neiȝede UV.] to Jeru|salem and to Betanye, to [atte UV.] the mount of [Om. UV.] Olyuete, he sendith [sente MNPXY.] two [tweyne GUV. twey O.] of his disciplis, [verse 2] and seith to hem, Go ȝe in to the castel that [which UV.] is aȝens ȝou; and anon ȝe entrynge in [Om. KV.] thidur schulen fynde a colt tyed, on [vpon O.] the [Om. UV.] which `non of men [no man N.] sat ȝit; vn|bynde [vntye UV.] ȝe, and bryng [brynge ȝe NUV. bringeth SX.] him. [verse 3] And if ony man `schal seie [seith UV.] ony thing to [aȝens Q.] ȝou [ȝou, What do ȝe Q sec. m.] , seie ȝe, that [for UV.] he is nedeful to the Lord, and anon he schal leeue him hidur. [verse 4] And thei go|ynge forth, founden a colt bounden [tyed U.] by|fore the ȝate with outeforth, in the meet|ing of tweye [two MPX et Y passim.] weyes; and thei vnbounden [vntyen UV.] him. [verse 5] And summe of men stondinge there seiden to hem, What don ȝe, vnbyndinge [vntyinge UV.] the colt? [verse 6] `And thei [Which UV.] seiden to hem, as Jhesus comaundide [hadde comaundide UV.] to [Om. AGMNPQSTUWX.] hem; and thei leften [leften to UV.] hem. [verse 7] And thei brouȝten the colt to Jhesu, and thei [Om. Q.] puttiden [putten SUVX.] to [on UV.] him her clothis, and Jhesus sat vpon [on SUVX.] him [hem I.] . [verse 8] For|sothe manye [many men UV.] strewiden her clothis in the weye, sotheli othere men kittiden [kitten X.] bowis, `or braunchis [Om. MOPQUVXY.] , fro [of UV.] trees, and strewiden in the weye. [verse 9] And thei that wenten bi|fore, and that sueden, cryeden, seyinge, [verse 10] Osanna, blessid is he that cometh in the [Om. PXY.] name of the Lord; blessid the [that O. is the UV.] kyngdom [rewme UV.]
