[verse 1] And Jhesus risynge vp fro thennis, cam in to the endis [coostis V.] of Jude ouer [biȝonde UV.] Jordan; and eftsoones [efte UV.] the cumpanyes [company OX.] `of peple [Om. UV.] camen [cam X.] `to gidere [Om. UV.] to him, and as he was wont, eftsoone [efte UV.] he tauȝte hem. [verse 2] And Pharisees `comynge nyȝ [neiȝynge UV.] , axiden him [him, temptynge hym UV.] , If [Whether U.] it be [is V.] leefful to a man for [Om. OQSTUVX.] to leeue [forsake UV.] , `or forsake [Om. AOUX. or to forsake N.] , his wyf? `temptinge him [Om. UV.] . [verse 3] And he answeringe seith [seide UV.] to hem, What co|maundide Moyses to ȝou? [verse 4] The [Om. UVX.] whiche seiden, Moyses suffride to [for to O.] write a libel of forsakinge, and to forsake. [verse 5] To whom [whiche UV.] Jhesus answeringe seith [seide UV.] , To the hard|nesse of ȝoure herte Moyses [he UV.] wroot to ȝou this precept [comaundement UV.] . [verse 6] Forsothe fro [at UV.] the bigyn|nyng of creature God made hem male [verse 7] and female; and he seide, For this thing a man schal leeue [forsake UV.] fadir [his fadir V.] and modir, and [verse 8] schal clefe to his wif, and thei schulen be tweyne [two MPXY.] in o fleisch. And so now thei ben not tweyne [two MPXY.] , but o fleisch. [verse 9] Therfore [Therfor a man departe not UV.] that thing that [which UV.] God ioynede [hath ioynede UV.] to gidere, `no man departe [Om. UV.] . [verse 10] And eftsoone [efte UV.] in the hows his disciplis axiden him of the same thing. [verse 11] And he seith [seide UV.] to hem, Who euere `schal leeue [forsaketh UV.] his wyf, and wedde [weddeth UV.] another, he doth auoutrie vpon [on UVX.] hir. [verse 12] And if the wyf `schal leeue [forsake UV.] hir hosebonde, and be [is UV.] weddid to another, she doth auoutrie. [verse 13] And thei offriden to him litle children, that he schulde touche hem; sotheli disciplis [the disciplis UV.] thret|enyden [threteden S. manassiden UV. thratten X.] to [Om. UV.] men offringe. [verse 14] Whom [Which UV.] whanne Jhesus hadde seyn, he baar `heuye, or vn|worthili [vnworthili A. heuyly, or vnworthili Q. vnwor|thili, or heueli UV. heuye X.] , and seith [seide UV.] to hem, Suffre ȝe
