[verse 26] And Y defoulede hem in her ȝiftis, whanne thei offriden al thing that opneth the wombe for her giltis; and thei shulden wite, for Y the Lord. [verse 27] Wherfor, sone of man, spek thou to the hous of Israel, and thou shalt seie to hem, Thes thingis seith the Lord God, Ȝit and in thes thingis ȝoure faders blasfemeden me, whanne thei despisynge hadden forsake [verse 28] me, and Y hadde ledde hem in to the loond vpon which Y reyside myn hoond, that Y shulde ȝyue it to hem, thei sawen eche heeȝ litil hil, or reisynge of greet hil, and eche tree ful of wode, and thei offreden there her slayn sacrifices for vic|torie, and ȝauen there her offryngis in to wraththinge; and thei puttiden there the odour of her swetnes, and sacrefieden her libaciouns, that ben of fletynge thingis, as wiyn, oyle, and siche. [verse 29] And Y seide to hem, What is the heiȝ thing, to whom ȝe entren in [Om. G pr. m. H.] ? And the name of it is clepid Heeȝ Thing til in to this dai. [verse 30] Ther|for sey thou to the hous of Israel, Thes thingis seith the Lord God, Certis in the weie of ȝoure fadris ȝe ben polut, or de|foulid, and after her offensiouns ȝe don [verse 31] fornycacioun, and in offrynge of ȝour ȝiftis, whanne ȝe leden ouer ȝoure sones bi fier, ȝe ben defoulid in alle ȝour ydols til to dai, and Y shal answere to ȝou, the hous of Israel? Y lyue, seith the Lord [verse 32] God, for I shal not answere to ȝou; ne|ther the thenkynge of ȝour soule, or vnderstondynge, shal be maad, of men seiynge, We shulen be as heithen men, as the kynredis of erthe, that we wor|shipe trees and stoonus. [verse 33] Y lyue, seith the Lord God, for in strong hoond, and in [Om. A.] arm strauȝt out [forth GH.] , and in woodnes shed out, Y shal regne vpon [on GH.] ȝou. [verse 34] And I shal
