[verse 1] The wrd that saȝ Isaie, the sone of Amos, vp on Judam and Jerusalem. [verse 2] And ther shal be in the laste daȝes beforn mad redi the mount of the hous of the Lord in the cop of mounteynes [the mounteynes A.] , and it shal be rered out vp on hillys. And ther shul [verse 3] flowe to it alle Jentilis; and ther shul go many puples, and seyn, Cometh, steȝe wee vp to the mount of the Lord, and to the hous of God of Jacob; and he shal teche vs his weyes, and wee shul go in his sties, `or pathes [Om. C et E pr. m.] . For fro Sion shall go out the lawe, and the wrd of the Lord fro Jerusalem. [verse 4] And he shal deme Jen|tiles, and vndernymen many puples; and thei shul bete togidere their swerdes in to shares, and ther speres in to sithes; ther shal not reren folc aȝen folc a swerd, ne thei shul ben enhauntid more to bataile. [verse 5] Ȝee hous of Jacob, cometh, and go wee in the liȝt of the Lord oure God. [verse 6] Forsothe thou hast throwen afer thi pu|ple, the hous of Jacob, for thei ben ful|fild as sum tyme; and deuynoures thei hadden, as Filisteis [Philisteym AEGHK.] , and to alien [the alien K.] childre thei cleueden. [verse 7] Fulfild is the erthe of siluer and gold, and ther is noon ende of the tresores of it; and fulfild is his lond with hors, and vnnoumbreable the foure horsid carres of it. [verse 8] And fulfild is his lond with maumetes, the werk of ther hondis thei honoureden, that `ther fingris maden [maden ther fingris C pr. m. E pr. m.] ; [verse 9] and a [Om. AGHK.] man bowede hymself, and meekid is the stronge man. Thanne ne forȝyue thou to them. [verse 10] Go [Go thou C pr. m.] in to the ston, be thou hid in a dich with erthe, fro the face of the dreede of the Lord, and fro the glorie of his mageste. [verse 11] The eȝen of the heȝe man ben meekid, and ther shal

ben inwardly crookid the heiȝte of stronge men; forsothe the Lord alone shal ben enhauncid in that dai. [verse 12] For the dai of the Lord of ostes vp on eche proud man and heeȝ, and vp on eche enhaunc|ende [haunsynge AEGH.] hymself, and he shal be mekid; [verse 13] and vp on alle the cedres of Liban heȝe and vpriȝt, and vp on alle the oekis of [verse 14] Basan, and vp on alle the heȝe moun|teynes, and vp on alle the `rered vp [vp rered C pr. m.] [verse 15] hilles; and vp on eche heȝ tour, and vp on [verse 16] eche strengthyd wal; and vp on alle the shipis of Thars, and vp on alle thing that is fair in siȝt. [verse 17] And ther shal be inwardly bowid al the [Om. AGHK.] heiȝnesse of men, and ther shal be meekid the heiȝte of stronge men; and ther shal be rered vp [verse 18] the Lord alone in that day, and the maumetes hoelly shul be to-brosid. [verse 19] And thei shul go in to dennes of stones, and in to swolewes of the erthe, fro the face of the drede [strengthe E pr. m.] of the Lord, and fro the glorie of his mageste, whan he shal rise to smyten the erthe. [verse 20] In that day shal a man throwe awey the maumetes of his siluer, and the symulacris of his gold, that he hadde mad to hym, that he shulde honoure moldewerpes and rere|mees. [verse 21] And he shal go in to the chynes [skynnys H.] , `or creuessis [Om. C et E pr. m. or creuase E sec. m. or creueis AGHK.] , of stones, and in to the dennes of huge stones, fro the face of the drede of the Lord, and fro the glorie of his mageste, whan he shal risen to smyte the erthe. [verse 22] Resteth thanne fro a man, whos spirit is in his nose therles, for heiȝ holden is he.
