[verse 2] Beth stylle, ȝee that dwellen in the ile, the chaffaring of Sidon; the men seilende [verse 3] ouer the se fulfilden thee with manye watris; the sed of Nyli, the rip of the flod his frutes, and mad is the chaffare of Jentiles. [verse 4] Ashame thou, Sidon, seith the se, the strengthe of the se, seiende, I trauailide not with child, and bar not, and nurshede not out ȝung childer, ne to ful [the ful A.] waxing broȝte forth maidenes. [verse 5] Whan herd it shal be in Egipt, thei shuln so|rewen, whan thei shuln [Om. E pr. m.] heren of Tiro. [verse 6] Passeth the ses; ȝelleth, that dwellen in the ile. [verse 7] Whether not this ȝoure is, that gloriede fro the rathere daȝes in his eelde? leden shuln it aferr hir feet to pilgrym|agen. [verse 8] Who thoȝte this vp on Tirun sum tyme crouned, whos nededoeres princes, his marchaundus noble men of the erthe? [verse 9] The Lord of ostes thoȝte this, that he drawe doun the pride of alle glorie, and to shenshipe bringe doun alle the noble men of erthe. [verse 10] Passe ouer thi lond as the flod, thou doȝter of the se; ther is no more girdil to thee. [verse 11] His hond ouer the se he `strecchide, and disturbede [shal strecchen and disturben CE pr. m.] reumes. The Lord sente aȝen Canaan, that he to|trede [verse 12] his stronge men; and seide [he seide A.] , Thou shalt no mor leyn to, that thou glorie, chalengis sustenende, thou maden doȝ|ter of Sidon [Sion C.] . In Sichym risende ouer|seile thou [Om. C.] ; there forsothe shal not ben reste to thee. [verse 13] Lo! the lond of Caldeis such a puple was not; Assur foundide it; in to caitifte thei ouerladden the stalwrthe

men of it; thei vnderdoluen his houses, thei putten it in to falling. [verse 14] Ȝelleth, ȝee shipes of the se, for doun wastid is ȝoure strengthe. [verse 15] And it shal be, in that dai in forȝeting thou shalt be, O! Tire, seuenti ȝer, as the daȝes of o king; after [and after K.] seuenti ȝer forsothe to [Om. E pr. m.] Tiro shal be as a song of a strumpet. [verse 16] Tac harpe, go aboute the cite, thou strumpet, to forȝeting taken; weel syng, ofte vse song, that mynde of thee be. [verse 17] And it shal be, after seuenti ȝer, the Lord shal visite Tirum, and bringen it aȝeen to his meedes; and eft [of it K.] it shal ben, whan it shal do fornyca|cioun with alle the reumes of the erthe, vp on the face of the erthe. [verse 18] And his nede doyngus and his meedus shuln ben halewid to the Lord; thei shuln not ben hid [confoundid E pr. m.] , ne leid vp; for to them that dwell|ede bifor the Lord shal be his nede do|yng, that thei ete into fulnesse, and be clad [clothid AEGHK.] vn to oldnesse.
