[verse 7] A litil iemme of kar|buncle in the ournement of gold; and comparisoun of musikes in the feste of wyn. [verse 8] As in forging of gold signe is of a smaragd, so the noumbre of musikis in myrie and temperat wyn. [verse 9] Here thou beende [and beynge A.] stille, and for reuerence shal falle to thee good grace. [verse 10] Thou a ȝung ful waxen man, spec in thin owne cause vnnethe, whan nede shul be. [verse 19] Who sech|eth the lawe, shal be fulfild of it; and who aspiendeli doth, shal be sclaundrid in it. [verse 20] Who dreden God, shul finde riȝt|wis dom; and riȝtwisnesses as liȝt thei shul teende. [verse 21] A man synnere shal schone

[verse 22] A man of counseil shal not distroȝe vnderstonding; and an alien and a proud shal not ful [Om. C pr. m.] dreden drede. [verse 23] Also aftir that he dide with hym withoute counseil, and in his infolew|ingis [folewingus C.] he shal ben vndernome. [verse 24] Sone, withoute counseil no thing do thou; and aftir thi deede thou shalt not othynke. [verse 25] In the weie of falling go thou not, and thou shalt not offende aȝen stones. Ne betake thou thee to a trauailous wey, ne [verse 26] poote thou to thi soule sclaunder; and of thi sones be war, and of thi homli men tac heed. [verse 27] In al thi werk leeue [bileeue G sec. m.] of the feith of thi soule; this is forsothe the keping of the hestes. [verse 28] Who leeueth [bileeueth G sec. m.] to God, taketh heed to the hestes; and who trosteth in hym, shal not be lassid.
