slim of the depthe; and ther is not sub|staunce. I cam in to the heiȝte of the se; and tempest drenchide me doun. [verse 4] I trauailide criende, horse [hoos AE sec. m. H.] ben maad my chekis; myn eȝen failiden, whil I hope in to my God. [verse 5] Thei ben multeplied ouer the heris of myn hed; that hatiden me withoute cause. Thei ben coumfortid that pursueden me myn enemys vnriȝt|wisly; the [Om. AH.] thingis that I raueshide not, thanne I paȝide out. [verse 6] God, thou knowest myn vnwisdam; and my giltis fro thee ben not hid. [verse 7] Lord, shame thei not in me that abiden thee, Lord [Om. CE pr. m.] ; Lord of vertues. Be thei not confoundid vp on me, that sechen thee; God of Irael. [verse 8] For I suffride for thee repref; shenshipe co|uerede my face. [verse 9] Straunge I am maad to my brethern; and a pilgrim to the sonus of my modir. [verse 10] For looue of thin hous eet me; and repreues of men re|preuende thee fallen vp on me. [verse 11] And I couerede in fasting my soul; and it is maad in to repref to me. [verse 12] And I putte my clothing an heire; and I am maad to them in to a parable. [verse 13] Aȝen me speeken that seeten in the ȝate; and in me diden salm, that drunke win. [verse 14] I forsothe made myn orisoun to thee, Lord; tyme is of thi wel plesing, God. In the multitude of thi mercy ful out here me; in the treuthe of thin helthe. [verse 15] Tac me out fro clei, that I be not inficchid; deliuere me fro hem that hatiden me, and fro the depthis of watris. [verse 16] Drenche me not doun the tempest of water; ne soupe me awei the depthe, ne threste vp on me the pit his mouth. [verse 17] Ful out here me, Lord, for benyngne is thi mercy; after the multi|tude of thi merci doingus behoold in me. [verse 18] And ne turne thou awei thi face fro thi child; for I am trublid, swiftli ful out here thou me. [verse 19] Loke in to my soule, and deliuere it; for myn enemys tac out me. confusioun, and my shame. [verse 21] In thi siȝte ben alle that trublen me; repref abod myn herte, and wrecchidnesse. And I suffride that summan togidere shulde with sorewen, and ther was not; and that shulde coumforten, and I fond not. [verse 22] And thei ȝeuen in to my mete galle; and in my thrist thei drunke me with eisel. [verse 23] Be mad the bord of hem in to a grene befor them; and in to ȝeldingus aȝeen, and in to sclaunder. [verse 24] Be al to-dercned the eȝen of hem, that thei see not; and the rig of hem euermor crooke thou in. [verse 25] Heeld out vp on hem thi wrathe; and the wodnesse of thi wrathe al take them. [verse 26] Be maad the dwelling of hem desert; and in the tabernaclis of hem be ther not that indwelle. [verse 27] For whom thou hast smyten, thei han pursued; and vp on the sorewe of my woundis thei addeden. [verse 28] Put to wickidnesse vp on the wickidnesse [wickenessis E. wickidnessis AH.] of hem; and entre thei not in to thi riȝtwis|nesse. [verse 29] Be thei do awei fro the boc of lyueres; and with riȝtwis men be thei not write. [verse 30] I am a pore man, and sorewende; thin helthe, God, vndertoc me. [verse 31] I shal preise the name of God with song; and magnefien hym in preising. [verse 32] And he shal plese to God vp on a newe calf; hornes bringende forth, and cles. [verse 33] See the pore, and glade thei; secheth God, and ȝoure soule shal liue. [verse 34] For the Lord ful out herde the pore; and despiside not hise bounden. [verse 35] Preise hym, heuenes and erthe; the se, and alle crepende thingis in it. [verse 36] For God shal make saf Sion; and the cites of Jude shul be bild vp. And thei shuln induelle there; and bi eritage thei shul purchasen it. [verse 37] And the sed of his seruauns shal welden it; and that loouen his name, shul duelle in it.
