PSALM LIX. [ [verse 1] In to the ende, for hem that shul ben holli chaungid, in the inscripcioun of the title, to hym Dauyd, in to lernyng [the lernynge H.] , [verse 2] whan he brende vp Mesopotanye of [or of AEH.] Cirie, or Cirie Sobal, and turnede Joab, and smot Edom in the valei of salt placis, twelue thousend.]

[verse 3] God, thou hast put vs abac, and de|stroȝid vs; thou wrathedest vs. [verse 4] Thou togidere mouedest erthe [the erthe AEH.] , and disturbidist it; hele the to-tredingis of it, for it is to|stirid. [verse 5] Thou hast shewid to thi puple hard thingis; thou hast drunken vs with wyn of compunccioun. [verse 6] Thou hast ȝiue to the dredende thee toknyng; that thei flee fro the face of the bowe. That thi [verse 7] loouede be deliuered, mac saf in thi riȝt hond; and ful out here me. [verse 11] Who shal bringe me in to strengthid [the strengthid A.] cite; who shal bringe me in to Idume? [verse 12] Whether not thou, God, that hast put vs abac; and thou, God, shalt not gon out in oure vertues? [verse 13] Ȝif to vs helpe fro tribulacioun; for veyn is the helthe of man. [verse 14] In God wee shul do vertu; and he to noȝt shal bringe doun men trublende vs.
