PSALM LV. [ [verse 1] In to the ende, for the puple that fro seintis is maad aferr, in the inscrip|cioun of the title to hym, Dauid, whan ther shulden holden hym hethene men in Jeth.]
[verse 2] Haue mercy of me, God, for a man `to-trad [to-tredede AEH.] me; al day impugnende trublide me. [verse 3] My enemys to-treeden me al day; for manye fiȝtende aȝen me. [verse 4] Fro the heiȝte of the dai I shal drede; I forsothe in thee shal hopen. [verse 5] In God I shal preise my woordis; in God I hopide, I shal not drede what do to me the flesh. [verse 6] Al dai thei cursiden my woordis; aȝen me alle thoȝtis of hem in to euel. [verse 7] Thei shul duelle in and hiden; thei myn heele shul waite. [verse 8] As thei susteneden my soule for noȝt; thou shalt make them saf in wrathe puplis thou shalt to-breke. [verse 9] God, my lif I `haue out told [shal tellen out E pr. m.] to thee; thou puttist my teres in thi siȝte. As in thi beheste, [verse 10] Lord; thanne shul ben al turned myn enemys bacward. In what euer dai I shal inwardli clepe thee; lo! I knew, for my God thou art. [verse 11] In God I shal preise the woord; in the Lord I shal preise the sermoun. In God I hopede; I shal not drede what do to me a man. [verse 12] In me, God, ben thi vouwis; the whiche I shal ȝelde preisingis to thee. [verse 13] For thou hast deliuered my soule fro deth, and my feet fro sliding; that I plese befor God in the liȝt [siȝte AH.] of liueres [liues H.] .
