[verse 2] What maner desireth the hert to wellis [the welles E pr. m.] of watris; so desireth my soule to thee, God. [verse 3] My soule thristide to God, the quyke welle; whan I shal comen, and apere befor the face of God? [verse 4] Ther weren to me my teris, loues dai and nyȝt; whil it is seid to me eche day, Wher is thi God? Hope in God, for ȝit I shal knoulechen to hym; the helthe ȝiuere of my chere, and my God. [verse 7] To myself my soule is al disturbid; therfore I shal be myndeful of thee fro the lond of Jordan, and fro Ermonyum, the litle hil. [verse 8] The depnesse depnesse inwardli clepeth; in the vois of thi gooteris. Alle thin heȝe thingis; and thi flodis ouer me passiden. [verse 9] In the dai the Lord sente his mercy; and in the nyȝt his song. [verse 10] Anent me orisoun to God of my lif; I shal sey to God, Myn vndertakere thou art. Whi forȝeete thou of [Om. AH.] me, and whi al sori I go; whil the enemy tormenteth me? [verse 11] Whil my bones ben to-broken; to me repreueden myn enemys, that trublen me.
