[verse 2] Abidende I abod the Lord; and he beheeld to me. [verse 3] And he ful out herde my preȝeeris; and broȝte out me fro the lake of wrecchidnesse; and fro the [Om. A.] clei of drestis. And he sette vp on a ston my feet; and dresside my goingis. [verse 4] And he ful putte in my mouth a newe song; a ditee to oure God. Manye shul see, and dreden; and hopen in the Lord. [verse 5] Blisful the man, of whom the name of the Lord is his hope; and aȝeen lokide not in to vanytees, and in to false wod|nessis [woodnes AH.] . beforn, and spac; thei ben multiplied ouer noumbre. [verse 7] Sacrifice and offring thou woldist not; eris forsothe thou par|formedist to me. Brent sacrifise, and [verse 8] for synne thou askidest not; thanne I seide, Lo! I come. In the hed of the [verse 9] boc it is write of me, that I do thi wil; my God, I wolde; and thi lawe in myddes of myn herte. [verse 10] I befortolde thi riȝtwisnesse in a gret chirche; lo! my lippis I shal not forfende, Lord, thou hast knowen. [verse 11] Thi riȝtwisnesse I hidde not in myn herte; thi treuthe and thin helthe ȝyuere I seide. I hidde not thi mercy, and thi treuthe; fro myche counseil. [verse 12] Thou, Lord, forsothe ne do thou aferr thi mercy doingus fro me; thi [Om. C.] mercy and thi treuthe [doom A.] euer mor vndertoken me. [verse 13] For ther enuyrounden me euelis, of the whiche is no noumbre; ther caȝten me my wickednessis, and I myȝte not, that I shulde see. Thei ben multiplied ouer the heris of myn hed; and myn herte forsoc me. [verse 14] Holli plese it to thee, Lord, that thou delyuere me; Lord, to helpen me looke aȝeen. [verse 15] Be thei confoundid, and shamefastli drede thei togidere; that sechen my soule, that thei do it awei. Be thei turned al bac|ward, and shamefastliche drede thei; that wiln to me euelis. [verse 16] Bere they anoon ther confusioun; that seyn to me, Weu! [verse 17] weu! Ful out ioȝe thei, and glade vpon me, alle that sechen thee; and that loouen thin helthe ȝiuere, sey thei, Euermor be magnefied the Lord. [verse 18] I forsothe a beg|gere am and pore; the Lord is bisi of me. Myn helpere and my defendere thou art; my God, ne be thou tariende [taryed A.] .
