CAP. XLI.
[verse 1] Not as cruel I shal reren hym; who forsothe mai withstonde to my chere? [verse 2] And who befor ȝaf to me, that I ȝeelde to hym? Alle thingus, that ben vnder heuene, ben myne. [verse 3] I shal not spare to hym bi myȝti woordis, and to preȝe sett togidere. [verse 4] Who shal shewe the face of his clothing, and in to the [Om. AH.] myddel of his mouth who shal gon in? [verse 5] The ȝatis of his chere who shal opene? bi cumpas of his teth drede. [verse 6] His body as ȝoten sheeldis, and threst togidere with scalis threstende doun hem|self. [verse 7] Oon to oon is ioyned; and lest breth|ing [brekynge H.] place forsothe go in bi them. [verse 8] Oon shal cleue to the tother, and holdende hemselue shul not ben seuered. [verse 9] His nesing shynyng of fyr, and his eȝen as eȝelidis of the morutid. [verse 10] Of his mouth laumpis gon forth, as tend brondus of fyr. [verse 11] Of his nose therlis goth forth smoke, as of a tend pot and boilende. [verse 12] His breth maketh colis to brenne, and flaume goth out of hys mouth. [verse 13] In his necke shal dwelle strengthe, and nede shal go be|forn his face. [verse 14] The [Om. AH.] membris of his flesh cleuende to themself; he shal senden aȝen hym [hem A.] flodis, and to an other place thei shul not be born. [verse 15] His herte shal ben in|wardli harded as a ston; and shal be
