[verse 1] And the woordis of Tobie ben ful endid; and after that he is liȝtid to seen, he liuede two and fourti ȝer, and he saȝ the sonus of his sonus sonus. [verse 2] And so ful|fild an hundrid ȝer and twelue [two E pr. m.] , he is biryed [deed and biried A.] wrshipefulli in Nynyue. [verse 3] Of sixe and fifti ȝer forsothe he lafte the liȝt of eȝen; forsothe in the sixtithe ȝeer of age he resceyuede. [verse 4] The remnaunt forsothe of his lif was in ioȝe, and with good pro|fit of the drede of God he passide in pes. [verse 5] In the hour forsothe of his deth he cle|pide to hym Tobie, his sone, and seuene ȝunge sonus of hym, his sonus sonus, and [verse 6] seide to hem, Neeȝh shal be the destruc|cioun of Nynyue, forsothe the woord of God falleth not of; and oure brethern, that ben scaterid fro the lond of Irael, shul be turned aȝeen to it. [verse 7] Al forsothe the desert lond of it shal be fulfild, and the hous of God, that in it was brent, shal be bild aȝeen, and thider shul turne aȝeen alle men dredende God. [verse 8] And Jentilis shuln leue there maumetus, and thei shul come to Jerusalem, and dwellen in it. [verse 9] And ther shul ioȝen in it alle kingus of erthe, honourende the king [kingis E pr. m.] of Irael. [verse 10] Hereth thanne, my sonus, ȝoure fader; serueth to the Lord in drede and in treuthe; and inwardli secheth, that ȝee do that ben plesaunt to hym. [verse 11] And to ȝoure sonus comaundeth, that thei do riȝt|wisnessis and almesse deedis; that thei be myndeful of God, and blesse God in alle time, in treuthe and in al his vertue. [verse 15] And he fond hem sound in good eelde. And the cure of hem he bar, and he closide the eȝen of hem; and al the eritage of the hous of Raguel he perceyuede, and he saȝ the fifte ieneracioun, the sonus of his sonus. [verse 16] And fulfild nynti and nyne ȝer in the drede of the Lord, with ioȝe thei birieden hym. [verse 17] Al forsothe his kinrede, and al his ieneracioun, in good lif, and in holy con|uersacioun, abod stille, so that thei weren acceptid bothe to God and to men, and to alle dwellende in the lond.
