CAP. XI.
[verse 1] And a reed [ether mesure K sec. m. marg.] lijk a ȝerde was ȝouun to me, and it was seid to me, Rise thou, and meete the temple of God, and the auter, and men that worschipen [worschipiden g.] in [togidere in K pr. m. Om. R.] it. [verse 2] But caste thou out the forȝerd, that is with out the temple, and mete not it; for it is ȝouun to hethene men, and thei schulen defoule the hooli citee bi fourti monethis and tweyne. [verse 3] And Y schal ȝyue `to my [Om. k pr. m.] twey witnessis [that is, Enok and Elye K marg.] , and thei schulen prophesie a thousynde daies two hun|drid and sixti [sixty and sixe I pr. m.] , and schulen be clothid with sackis. [verse 4] These [There k.] ben tweyne [two h.] olyues, and twei [two Rh.] candilstikis [candilstikis schynynge I pr. m.] , and thei stonden in the siȝt of the Lord of the erthe. [verse 5] And if ony man wole anoye [noie R.] hem, fier schal go out of the mouth of hem, and schal deuoure her enemyes. And if ony wole hirte hem, thus it bihoueth hym to be slayn. [verse 6] These han power to close heuene, that it reyne not in the daies of her pro|phesie; and thei han power on watris, to turne hem [Om. R.] in to blood; and to smyte the erthe with euery plage, and as ofte as thei wolen. [verse 7] And whanne thei schulen
