do thankyngis eueremore to God for ȝou, britheren, so as it is worthi, for ȝoure feith ouer wexith, and the charite of ech of ȝou to othere aboundith. [verse 4] So that we silf [vs silf IKak.] glorien in ȝou in the chirchis of God, for ȝoure pacience and feith in alle ȝoure persecuciouns and tribulaciouns. [verse 5] Whiche ȝe susteynen in to the ensaum|ple of the iust dom of God, that ȝe be had worthi in the kingdom of God, for which ȝe suffren. [verse 6] If netheles it is iust tofor God to quite tribulacioun to hem [verse 7] that troblen ȝou, and to ȝou that ben troblid, rest with vs in [in to K sec. m.] the schewing of the Lord Jhesu fro heuene, with aungelis [verse 8] of his vertu, in the flawme of fier, that schal ȝyue veniaunce to hem that knowen not God, and that obeien not to the euangelie [gospel R.] of oure Lord Jhesu Crist. [verse 9] Whiche schulen suffre euere lastinge peynes, in perischinge fro the face of the Lord, and fro the glorie of his vertu, [verse 10] whanne he schal come to be glorified in hise seyntis, and to be maad wondurful in alle men that bileueden, for oure wit|nessing is bileuyd on ȝou, in that dai. [verse 11] In which thing also we preien euere more for ȝou, that oure God make ȝou worthi to his cleping, and fille [to fille k.] al the wille of his goodnesse, and the werk of [verse 12] feith in vertu; that the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist be clarified in ȝou, and ȝe in hym, bi the grace of oure Lord Jhesu Crist.
