[verse 1] Therfor Y boundun for the Lord bi|seche ȝou, that ȝe walke worthili in the [verse 2] clepyng, in which ȝe ben clepid, with al mekenesse and myldenesse, with pacience [verse 3] supportinge ech other in charite, bisi to kepe vnyte of spirit in the boond of pees. [verse 4] O bodi and o spirit, as ȝe ben [verse 5] clepid in oon hope of ȝoure cleping; o [verse 6] Lord, o feith, o baptym, o God and fa|dir [the fadir k.] of alle [alle thingis k.] , which is aboue alle men, and bi alle thingis, and in vs alle. [verse 7] But to ech of vs grace is ȝouun bi the me|sure [verse 8] of the ȝyuyng of Crist; for which thing he seith, He stiynge an hiȝ, ledde caitifte [that is, men holden pri|soners of the deuel, Crist took and ra|uischide fro the deuel, and made soget vndir the esy ȝoc of Crist, and brouȝte hem fro helle to heuene. of seyntis, in to the werk of mynystrie, [verse 13] in to edificacioun of Cristis bodi, til we rennen alle, in to vnyte of feith and of knowyng of Goddis sone, in to a parfit man, aftir the mesure of age [the age X.] of the [verse 14] plente of Crist; that we be not now litle children, mouynge as wawis, and be not borun aboute with ech wynd of teching, in the weiwardnesse of men, in sutil wit, to the disseyuyng of errour. [verse 15] But do we treuthe in charite, and wexe in him by [verse 16] alle thingis, that is Crist oure heed; of whom alle the bodi set [is set k pr. m.] togidere, and boundun togidere bi ech ioynture of vnder seruyng, bi worching in to the mesure of ech membre, makith encrees|yng of the bodi, in to edificacioun of it silf in charite. [verse 17] Therfor Y seie and wit|nesse this thing in the Lord, that ȝe walke not now, as hethene men walken, [verse 18] in the vanyte of her wit; that han vn|durstondyng derkned with derknessis [of synne X sec. m. marg. k.] , and ben alienyd fro the lijf of God, bi ignoraunce that is in hem, for the blyndenesse of her herte. [verse 22] Do ȝe awey bi the elde lyuyng the [that a.] elde man, that is corrupt bi the desiris of errour; [verse 23] and be ȝe renewlid [renewid KRaαβ.] in the spirit of ȝoure [verse 24] soule; and clothe ȝe the newe man, which is maad aftir God in riȝtwisnesse and hoolynesse of treuthe. [verse 25] For which thing `ȝe putte [putte ȝe EIK sec. m. Rk.] awei leesyng, and speke ȝe treuthe ech man with his neiȝbore, for we ben membris ech to othere. [verse 26] Be ȝe wrooth, and nyle ȝe [Om. I pr. m.] do synne; the sunne falle not doun on ȝoure wraththe.

[verse 27] Nyle ȝe ȝyue stide to the deuel. [verse 28] He that stal, now stele he not; but more [more rather I.] trauele he in worchinge with hise hondis that that is good, that he haue whereof he schal ȝyue to nedi [the nedie CEIKQR sec. m. Xagαβ. the nedynesse R pr. m.] . [verse 29] Ech yuel word go not of [forth of A sec. m. I. out of EXghkoα. fro R.] ȝoure mouth; but if ony is good to the [Om. bg.] edificacioun of feith, that it ȝyue grace to men that heren. [verse 30] And nyle ȝe make the Hooli Goost of God sori [ether heuyȝ K marg.] , in which ȝe ben markid in the dai of redempcioun. [verse 31] Al bitternesse, and wraththe, and indignacioun, and cry, and blasfemye be takun awey fro ȝou, [verse 32] with al malice; and be ȝe togidere be|nygne, merciful, forȝyuynge togidere, as also God forȝaf to ȝou in Crist.
