Salomon hadde twelue ouerseers vpon al Yrael, that ȝeuen corn to the kyng, and to his hows; forsothe bi the monethis arowe in the ȝeer, thei a rowe mynystreden necessarijs. [verse 8] And thes the names of hem; Benhur, in the mount of [verse 9] Effraym; Bendekar, in Mactes, and in Salebbym, and in Bethsames, and in He|lon, [verse 10] and in Bethanan; Benesech, and in Araboth; of hym forsothe was Socco, [verse 11] and al the loond of Eefer; Benabidanab, of whom al Neptad; Dorthafaed, the [Om. B.] douȝter of Salomon, he hadde to [Om. BEFH.] wijf. [verse 12] Bena, the sone of Achilud, gouernede Thaneth, Amageddo, and al Bethsan, that is beside Sarthana, vndur Jezmel, fro Bethsan vnto Abelmeula, `forn aȝens [fro the regioun of E pr. m.] Sel|maan. [verse 13] Bengaber in Ramoth Galaad hadde Anothiair, of the sone of Manasse, in Ga|laad; he gouernede in al the regioun of Argob, that is in Basan, to sexti greet citees and wallid, that hadden brasen lockis. [verse 14] Achymadab, the sone of Addo, [verse 15] rewlide in Manahym; Achymaas, in Nep|talym, but and he hadde Bachsemath, the [verse 16] douȝter of Salomon, in mariage; Bena, the sone of Husi, in Aser, and in Balod; [verse 17] Josaphat, the sone of Pharue, in [and in A.] Ysa|char; [verse 18] Semei, the sone of Hela, in Benia|myn; [verse 19] Gaber, the sone of Sury, in the loond of Galaad, and in the loond of Seon, kyng of Amorrey, and of Og, the kyng of Basan, vpon alle thingis [Om. E pr. m.] that weren in that loond. [verse 20] Juda and Yrael ben vnnoumbrable, as the grauel of the see in multitude, etynge, and drynkynge, and gladynge. [verse 21] Forsothe Salomon was in his power, hauynge alle the rewmes, as fro the flood of the loond of Philisteis vnto the eende of Egipt, of men offryng to hym ȝiftis, and of seruynge to hym alle the days of his lijf. [verse 23] meele, ten fatte oxen, twenti `lesewed oxen [foddrid scheep A pr. m. BCEFH.] , and an hundrid wetheris, `out taak [without B rec. m.] huntynge of hertis, and of goot, and of buglis, and of fed foulis. [verse 24] For|sothe he helde al the regioun that was beȝonde the flood, as fro Capsa vnto Gasan, and alle the kingis of that re|gioun; and he hadde pees on al side in enuyroun. [verse 25] And Juda dwellide and [in AFH.] Yrael with outen eny drede, echon vndur his vyn, and vndur his fiyg tree, fro Dan vnto Bersabee, alle the dais of Salomon. [verse 26] And Salomon hadde fourti thousand cratchis of chaare hors, and twelue thou|sand of ridynge hors; and the forseid ouerseers of the kyng norisheden hem. [verse 27] But and the necessarijs of kyng Salo|mon [Salomonys CEH.] bord thei ȝauen with greet bisynes [verse 28] in her [his E pr. m.] tyme; forsothe barli, and chaf of hors, and of beestis thei brouȝten into the place, where the kyng was, aftir the settynge to hem. [verse 29] Forsothe God ȝaf wisdam to Salomon, and myche pru|dence ful greetli, and laargenesse of herte, as grauel that is in the brenk of the see. [verse 30] And the wisdam of Salomon wente be|fore the wisdam of alle the eest men, and [verse 31] of Egipciens [the Egipciens BCEFH.] ; and he was wiser than alle men; wiser than Ethan Esrayte, and than Eman, and than Cacal, and than Dorda, the sones of Maol; and he was nemned in alle the [Om. H.] gentylis bi enuyroun. [verse 32] And Salomon spak thre thousand parablis, and the ditees of hym [verse 33] weren fyue thousand; and he disputide vpon the [Om. C.] trees, fro [of B.] the cedar that is in Liban, vnto the ysoop that goth out of the wal; and he tretyde of the beestis, and foulis, and of crepynge beestis, and of fisshis. [verse 34] And there camen of alle pu|plis to the wysdam of Salomon to be herde, and of alle kyngis of erthe [the erthe E pr. v.] , the whiche herden the wisdam of hym.
