[verse 1] Therfor [Herfore IQα.] we that han this admyn|ystracioun, aftir this that we han getun [verse 2] merci, faile we not, but do we awei [ether forsake K marg.] the preue thingis of schame, not walkinge in sutil gile, nether doynge auoutrye bi the word of God, but in schewynge of the treuthe comendynge vs silf to ech con|science of men bifor God. [verse 3] For if also oure gospel is kyuerid [kyuered, or hid I. ether hid K marg.] , in these that [verse 4] perischen it is kyuerid; in which God [God of this world, that is, the deuel a.] [that is, very God, maker of this world. hath blyndid; that is, with drawe iustly fro hem the liȝt of his grace, for her synne; either the deuel is seid god of this world, as he is seid prince of this world, that is, of men lyu|ynge worldly. prechen not vs silf, but oure Lord Jhe|su Crist; and vs ȝoure seruauntis bi Jhesu [Jhesu Crist aα.] . [verse 6] For God, that seide liȝt to schyne of derknessis, he hath ȝoue liȝt in oure hertis, to the liȝtnyng of the science of the clerenesse of God, in the face of Jhesu Crist. [verse 7] And we han this tresour in britil vessels, that the worthinesse be of Goddis vertu, and not of vs. [verse 8] In alle thingis we suffren tribulacioun, but we ben not angwischid [maad streit C.] , or annoyed; we ben maad pore, but `we lacken [vs lacketh Ece. vs wantith Igα.] nothing; [verse 9] we suffren persecucioun, but we ben not forsakun; we ben maad lowe, but we ben not confoundid; we ben cast doun, but we perischen not. [verse 10] And euere more we beren aboute the sleyng of Jhesu [Crist a.] in oure bodi, that also the lijf of Jhesu be schewid in oure bodies. [verse 11] For euere more we that lyuen, ben takun in to deth for Jhesu, that the lijf of Jhesu be schewid in oure deedli fleisch. [verse 12] Therfor deth worchith in vs, but lijf worchith [Om. CEIKMQRUX abceghkoαβ.] in ȝou. [verse 13] And we han the same spirit of feith, as it is writun, Y haue bileuyd, Y [wherfore Y A sec. m. I sec. m. α. for which thing Y C sec. m. K sec. m. β. for which thing and R.] haue spoke; and we bileuen, wherfor also we [verse 14] speken; witynge that he that reiside Jhesu, schal reise [reise vp a sec. m.] also vs with Jhesu, and schal ordeyne with ȝou. [verse 15] And alle thingis for ȝou, that a plenteuouse grace bi many thankyngis be plenteuouse in to the glorie of God. [verse 16] For which thing we failen not, for thouȝ oure vtter man be corruptid; netheles the ynner man is re|newid [newid EI pr. m. Qeg.] fro dai to dai. [verse 17] But that liȝt thing of oure tribulacioun that lastith now, but as it were by a moment, worch|ith in vs ouer mesure an euerlastynge

birthin in to the heiȝnesse of glorie; [verse 18] while that we biholden not tho thingis that ben seyn, but tho that ben not seyn. For tho thingis that ben seyn, ben but durynge for a schort tyme; but tho thingis that ben not seyn, ben euerlast|ynge.
