[verse 1] Poul, the seruaunt of Jhesu Crist [Om. c.] , clepid [Om. I.] an [Om. K sec. m.] apostle, departid in to the [verse 2] gospel of God; which he hadde bihote tofore [bifore a.] bi [to k.] his [Om. T.] profetis in holi scripturis [verse 3] of his sone, which is maad to hym of the [verse 4] seed of Dauid bi the flesch, and [as RT.] he was bifor ordeyned the sone of God in vertu, bi the spirit of halewyng of the aȝen|risyng of deed men, of Jhesu Crist oure [verse 5] Lord, bi whom we han resseyued grace and the office of apostle, to obeie to the [verse 6] feith in alle folkis for his name, among whiche ȝe ben also clepid of Jhesu [verse 7] Crist, to alle that ben at Rome, derlyngis of God, and clepid hooli, grace to ȝou, and pees of God oure fadir, and of the Lord Jhesu Crist. [verse 8] First Y do thank|yngis to my God, bi Jhesu Crist, for alle ȝou, for ȝoure feith is schewid in [in to Q.] al the world. [verse 9] For God is a witnesse to me, to whom Y serue in my spirit, in the gospel [verse 10] of his sone, that with outen ceessyng Y make mynde of ȝou euere in my preieris, and biseche, if in ony maner sum tyme Y haue a [Om. S.] spedi weie in the wille of God to come to ȝou. [verse 11] For Y desire to se ȝou, to parten sumwhat [sumwhat to ȝou k.] of spiritual [verse 12] grace, that ȝe be confermyd, that is, to be coumfortid togidere in ȝou, bi feith that is bothe ȝoure and myn togidere.
