[verse 2] treserie; but he saye also a litil pore widewe castynge twei ferthingis. [verse 3] And he seide, Treuli Y seie to ȝou, that this pore widewe keste [castede E.] more than alle men. [verse 4] For whi alle these of thing that was plenteuouse to hem casten [casteden E. kesten R.] in to the ȝiftis of God; but this widewe of that thing that failide to hir, caste [castede E. kest R.] al hir liflode, that sche hadde. [verse 5] And whanne sum men seiden of the temple, that it was apparailid with gode stoonus and [verse 6] ȝiftis, he seide, These thingis that ȝe seen, daies schulen come, in whiche a stoon schal not be left on a stoon, which schal not be destried. [verse 7] And thei axiden hym, and seiden, Comaundour, whanne schulen these thingis be? and what tokne schal be, whanne thei schulen bi|gynne to be don? [verse 8] And he seide, Se ȝe, that ȝe be not disseyued; for many schulen come in my name, seiynge, For Y am, and the tyme schal neiȝe; therfor nyle ȝe go aftir hem. [verse 9] And whanne ȝe schulen here batailis and stryues with ynne, nyle ȝe be aferd; it bihoueth first these thingis to be don, but not ȝit anoon is an ende. [verse 10] Thanne he seide to hem, Folk schal rise aȝens folk, and rewme [verse 11] aȝens rewme; grete [and grete C sec. m. R.] mouyngis of erthe [the erthe gk.] schulen be bi placis, and pestilencis, and hungris, and dredis fro heuene, and grete tokenes schulen be. [verse 12] But bifore alle these thingis thei schulen sette her hoondis on ȝou, and schulen pursue [purswe ȝou Kk.] , bitakynge in to synagogis and kepyngis [kepyngis, and ik pr.m.] , drawynge [drawinge ȝou Kk.] to [verse 13] kyngis and to iusticis, for my name; but it schal falle to ȝou in to witnessyng. [verse 14] Therfor putte ȝe [ȝe not hi.] in [into gk.] ȝoure hertis, not [Om. hi.] to thenke bifore, hou ȝe schulen answere;

[verse 15] for Y schal ȝyue to ȝou mouth and wis|dom, to whiche alle ȝoure aduersaries schulen not mowe aȝenstonde, and aȝen|seie. [verse 16] And ȝe schulen be takun of fadir, and modir, and [and of I.] britheren, and cosyns, and [and of I.] freendis, and bi deeth thei schulen [verse 17] turmente of ȝou; and ȝe schulen be in haate to alle men for my name. [verse 18] And an heere of ȝoure heed schal not perische; [verse 19] in ȝoure pacience ȝe schulen welde ȝoure soulis. [verse 20] But whanne ȝe schulen se Je|rusalem ben enuyround with an oost, thanne wite ȝe, that the desolacioun of it schal neiȝe. [verse 21] Thanne thei that ben in Judee, fle [fle ȝe k.] to [in to K sec. m. gk. in P.] the [Om. IKSg.] mountans; and thei that ben in the mydil of it, gon awei; and thei that ben in the cuntreis, entre not in to it. [verse 22] For these ben daies [the daies b.] of veniaunce, that alle thingis that ben writun, be fulfillid. [verse 23] And wo to hem, that ben with child, and norischen in tho daies; for a greet diseese schal be on the erthe, and wraththe to this [al this Ii pr. m. the k.] puple. [verse 24] And thei schulen falle bi the scharpnesse of swerd, and thei schulen be led prisoneris in to alle folkis; and Jerusalem schal be defoulid of hethene men, til the tymes [tyme k.] of naciouns be fulfillid. [verse 25] And tokenes schulen be in the sunne, and the [Om. e.] mone, and in the sterris; and in the [Om. bigynnen to be maad, biholde ȝe, and reise ȝe ȝoure heedis, for ȝoure redemp|cioun neiȝeth. [verse 29] And he seide to hem a liknesse, Se ȝe the fige tre, and alle trees, [verse 30] whanne thei bryngen forth now of hem [verse 31] silf fruyt, ȝe witen that somer is nyȝ; so ȝe, whanne ȝe seen these thingis to [Om. k.] be don, wite ȝe, that the kyngdom of God is nyȝ. [verse 32] Treuli Y seie to ȝou, that this generacioun schal not passe, til alle thingis be don. [verse 33] Heuene and erthe schulen passe, but my wordis schulen not passe. [verse 34] But take ȝe heede to ȝou [ȝoure Ehi.] silf, lest perauen|ture ȝoure hertis be greuyd with glotony, and drunkenesse, and bisynessis [bisynesse Ibhi.] of this lijf, and thilke dai come sodein [sodeynli C pr. m. R sec. m. hik.] on ȝou; [verse 35] for as a snare it schal come on alle men, that sitten on the face of al erthe [the erthe IKgk.] . [verse 36] Ther|for wake ȝe, preiynge in ech tyme, that ȝe be hadde worthi to fle alle these thingis that ben to come, and to stonde bifor mannus sone. [verse 37] And in daies [tho daies k pr. m.] he was techynge in the temple, but in nyȝtis he ȝede out, and dwellide in the mount, that is clepid of Olyuet. [verse 38] And al the puple roos eerli, to come to hym in the temple, and to [for to IKMRS pr. m. Xghi.] here hym.
