in that citee, and sche cam to hym, and [verse 4] seide, Venge me of myn aduersarie; and he wolde not longe tyme. But aftir these thingis he seide with ynne hym silf, Thouȝ Y drede not God, and schame [verse 5] not of man, netheles for this widewe is heuy to me, Y schal venge hir; lest at the laste sche comynge condempne me. [verse 6] And the Lord seide, Here ȝe, what the [verse 7] domesman of wickidnesse seith; and whe|ther God schal not do veniaunce of hise chosun, criynge to hym dai and nyȝt, and schal haue pacience in hem? [verse 8] Sotheli Y seie to ȝou, for soone he schal do veniaunce of hem. Netheles gessist thou, that mannus sone comynge schal fynde feith in erthe? [verse 9] And he seide also to sum men, that tristiden in hem silf, as thei weren riȝtful, and dispiseden othere, [verse 10] this parable, seiynge, Twei men wenten [ȝeden S.] vp [Om. c.] in to the temple to preye; the [that Iek.] toon [oon EIk. toon was K.] a Farisee, and [Om. EP.] the [that E.] tother [oothir Ie.] a pupplican. [verse 11] And the Farisee stood, and preiede bi hym silf these thingis, and seide, God, Y do thankyngis to thee, for Y am not as other men, raueinouris [rauenous EP.] , vniust, auou|treris [verse 12] [auouteris IS.] , as also this pupplican; Y faste twies in the woke, Y ȝyue tithis of alle thingis that Y haue in possessioun. [verse 13] And the pupplican stood afer, and wolde [nolde k.] nether [not Q.] reise hise iȝen to [in to E.] heuene, but smoot his brest, and seide, God be mer|ciful to me, synnere. [verse 14] Treuli Y seie to ȝou, this [he this I.] ȝede doun in to his hous, and was iustified fro the other [tother EKPRSUXbghik.] . hem; and whanne the disciplis saien this thing, thei blameden hem. [verse 16] But Jhesus clepide togider hem, and seide, Suffre ȝe children to come to me, and nyle ȝe for|bede hem, for of siche is the kyngdom of heuenes. [verse 17] Treuli Y seie to ȝou, who euer schal not take the kyngdom of God as a child, he schal not entre in to it. [verse 18] And a prince axide hym, and seide, Goode maister, in [Om. EP.] what thing doynge schal Y weilde euerlastynge lijf? [verse 19] And Jhesus seide to hym, What seist thou me [to me EP pr. m.] good? No man is good, but God aloone. [verse 20] Thou knowist the comaunde|mentis, Thou schalt not sle, Thou schalt not do letcherie, Thou schalt not do theft, Thou schalt not seie fals witness|yng, Worschipe thi fadir and thi [Om. EP.] mo|dir. [verse 21] Which seide, Y haue kept alle these thingis fro my ȝongthe [ȝouthe EPQk.] . [verse 22] And whanne this thing was herd, Jhesus seide to hym, Ȝit o thing failith `to thee [Om. E.] ; sille thou alle thingis that thou hast, and ȝyue to pore men, and thou schalt haue tresour in heuene; and come, and sue thou me. [verse 23] Whanne [And whanne A pr. m.] these thingis weren herd, he was soreful, for he was ful ryche. [verse 24] And Jhesus seynge hym maad sorie, seide, How hard thei that han money schulen entre in to the kyngdom [verse 25] of God; for it is liȝter a camel to passe thorou a nedlis iȝe, than a riche man to entre in to the kyngdom of God. [verse 26] And thei that herden these thingis seiden, Who may be maad [Om. S.] saaf? [verse 27] And he seide to hem, Tho thingis that ben im|possible [vnpossible Pk.] anentis men, ben possible anen|tis God. [verse 28] But Petir seide, Lo! we han left alle thingis, and han sued thee. he seide to hym, Treuli Y seie to ȝou, there is no man that schal forsake hous, or fadir, modir [and modir EIPQRbceghiα. or modir A pr. m. KSkβ.] , or britheren, or wijf, or children, or feeldis, for the rewme of [verse 30] God, and schal not resseyue many mo thingis in this tyme, and in the world to comynge euerlastynge lijf. [verse 31] And Jhe|sus took hise twelue disciplis, and seide to hem, Lo! we gon vp to Jerusalem, and alle thingis schulen be endid, that ben writun bi the prophetis of mannus sone. [verse 32] For he schal be bitraied to hethen men, and he schal be scorned, and [verse 33] scourgid, and bispat; and aftir that [Om. hi.] thei han scourgid [scourgid him K.] , thei schulen sle hym, and the thridde dai he schal rise aȝen. [verse 34] And thei vndurstoden no thing [thingis hi.] of these; and this word was hid fro hem, and thei vndurstoden not tho thingis that weren seid. [verse 35] But it was don, whanne Jhesus cam nyȝ to Jerico, a blynde man sat bisidis the weie, and beggide. [verse 36] And whanne he herde the puple passynge, he axide, what this was. [verse 37] And thei seiden to hym, that Jhesus of Nazareth passide. [verse 38] And he criede, and seide, Jhe|su, the sone of Dauyd, haue mercy on me. [verse 39] And thei that wenten bifor blam|yden hym, that he schulde be stille; but he criede myche the more, Thou sone of Dauid, haue mercy on me. [verse 40] And Jhesus stood, and comaundide hym to be brouȝt forth to hym. And whanne he cam nyȝ, [verse 41] he axide hym, and seide, What wolt thou that Y schal do to thee? And he seide, Lord, that Y se. [verse 42] And Jhesus seide to hym, Biholde; thi feith hath maad thee saaf. [verse 43] And anoon he say, and suede hym, and magnyfiede God. And al the puple, as it say, ȝaf heriyng to God.
