[verse 7] And whanne ȝe here batels and opynyouns of batels, drede ȝe not; for it bihoueth these thingis to be doon, but not ȝit anoon is the ende. [verse 8] For folk schal rise on folk, and rewme on rewme, and erthe mou|yngis and hungur schulen be bi placis; these thingis schulen be bigynnyngis [beginninge IKPQS pr. m. bcegα.] of sorewis. [verse 9] But se ȝe ȝou [ȝour EPhi.] silf, for [forsothe I.] thei schulen take ȝou in counsels, and ȝe schulen be betun in synagogis; and ȝe schulen stonde bifor kyngis and domes|men for me, in witnessyng to hem. [verse 10] And it bihoueth, that the gospel be first prechid among al folk. [verse 11] And whanne thei taken ȝou, and leden ȝou forth, nyle ȝe bifore thenke what ȝe schulen speke, but speke ȝe that thing that schal be ȝouun to ȝou in that our; for ȝe ben not the spekeris, but the Hooli Goost. [verse 12] For a [the I.] brother schal bitake the [a c.] brother in to deth, and the fadir the sone, and sones schulen rise togider aȝens fadris [fadir k.] and modris [modir k.] , and punysche hem bi deeth. [verse 18] Therfor preye ȝe, that thei [tho thingis k.] be not don in wyntir. [verse 19] But thilke daies of tribulacioun schulen be suche, whiche maner weren not fro the bigynnyng of creature, which God hath maad, til now, nethir schulen be. [verse 20] And but the Lord hadde abredgide tho daies, al [ech Ik.] fleische hadde not be saaf; but for the chosun whiche he chees, the Lord hath maad schort the daies. [verse 21] And thanne if ony man seie to ȝou, Lo! here is Crist, lo! there, bileue ȝe not. [verse 23] Therfor take ȝe kepe; lo! Y haue bifor seid to ȝou alle thingis. [verse 24] But in tho daies, aftir that tribulacioun, the sunne schal be maad derk, and the moon schal not ȝyue hir [verse 25] liȝt, and the sterris of heuene schulen falle doun, and the vertues that ben in heuenes, schulen be moued. [verse 26] And thanne thei schulen se mannus sone comynge in [in the EIQRhikα.] cloudis of heuene, with greet vertu and glorie. [verse 27] And thanne he schal sende hise aungelis, and schal geder hise chosun fro the foure wyndis, fro the hiȝest thing of erthe til to the hiȝest thing of he|uene. [verse 28] But of the fige tree lerne ȝe the parable. Whanne now his braunche is tendre, and leeues ben sprongun out, ȝe knowen that somer is nyȝ. [verse 29] So whanne ȝe seen these thingis be [to be k.] don, wite ȝe, that it is nyȝ in the doris. [verse 30] Treuli Y seie to ȝou, that this generacioun schal not passe awei, til alle these [Om. [verse 33] Se ȝe, wake ȝe, and preie ȝe; for ȝe witen not, whanne the tyme is. [verse 34] For as a man that is gon fer in pilgrim|age, lefte [and lefte C.] his hous, and ȝaf to his ser|uauntis power of euery work, and co|maundide [comaunde S.] to the porter, that he wake.
