THIS profete Danyel was in the transmygracioun of Babiloyne, and he forsook the kingis metis, and eet onli breed and potage, lest he scholde be defoulid aȝens his God thoruȝ delicat metis, and forsake the lawe of God. Wherfor the Lord God ȝaf to him of his Holi Spirit, to interprete dremes and visiouns; and gat grace anentis the king, and fauour to al the peple of Israel; and the Lord schewide to him, bi visioun and expownyng of an aungel, thingis that weren to comynge in to the ende of the world, and of the dai of doom, and of arisynge aȝen of dede men, and of the blisse that euer schal laste to the chosene of God.
