PSALM XVIII. [ [verse 1] The title of the [Om. FQi.] eiȝtenthe salm. To vic|torie, the [of the O.] salm of Dauid.]

[verse 2] Heuenes tellen out the glorie of God; and the firmament tellith the werkis of hise hondis. [verse 3] The dai tellith [tellith ether bolkith X sec. m.] out to the dai a word; and the nyȝt schewith [sheweth out K.] kun|nyng to the nyȝt. [verse 4] No langagis ben, nether wordis; of whiche the voices of hem ben not herd. [verse 5] The soun of hem ȝede out in to al erthe; and the wordis of hem `ȝeden out [Om. I.] in to the endis of the world. [verse 6] In the sunne he hath set his tabernacle; and he as a spouse comynge [was comynge I.] forth of his chaumbre.

He fulli ioyede, as a giaunt, to renne his [verse 7] weie; his goynge out was fro hiȝeste he|uene. And his goyng aȝen was to the hiȝeste therof; and noon is [ther is I.] that hidith hym silf fro his heet [heet, that is, charite KV.] . [verse 8] The lawe of the Lord is with out wem, and conuertith soulis; the witnessyng of the Lord is feithful, and [and it I.] ȝyueth wisdom to litle [litle, ether meke KV.] chil|dren. [verse 9] The riȝtfulnessis of the Lord ben riȝtful, gladdynge hertis; the comaunde|ment of the Lord is cleere, liȝtnynge iȝen. [verse 10] The hooli drede of the Lord dwellith in to world [the world K sec. m.] of world; the domes of the Lord ben trewe, iustified in to hem [Om. S.] silf. [verse 11] De|sirable [Desiderable CGQ.] more than gold, and a stoon myche preciouse; and swettere than hony and honycoomb. [verse 12] `Forwhi [Forsothe I.] thi seruaunt kepith thoo; myche ȝeldyng [ȝeldyng or reward I.] is in tho [thilke domes I.] to be kept. [verse 13] Who vndurstondith trespassis? make thou [verse 14] me cleene fro my priuy synnes; and of alien synnes spare thi seruaunt. `If the forseid defautis [fautis S.] ben not, Lord, of me, than Y schal be with out wem [If tho haue not lordschip of me, thanne I schal be vndefoulid of aliene synnes I.] ; and Y schal be clensid of the mooste synne. [verse 15] And the spechis of my mouth schulen be [be siche I.] , that tho [thei I.] plese; and the thenkynge of myn herte [herte is I.] euere in thi siȝt. Lord, myn [thou art myn I.] helpere; and myn aȝenbiere.
